Do Economic “Bubbles” Indicate A Drowning Economy?

Do Economic “Bubbles” Indicate A Drowning Economy?

I do not speak econolingo, but the metaphorical connection seems clear enough.  Though investors may seek to get in early on a bubbles bandwagon before it burst, hopefully selling out before the OH NO! event.  I believe the phenomenon speaks, or gurgles for itself.

(A bubbles bandwagon?)

Our economy operates on Consensus Realities and attendant Appearance Realities.  Money does not actually make money or grow on trees, it shifts around in circulation as a manner of distribution of wealth. Fruit on trees must be picked. The other side of that coin; redistribution of wealth, is endemic as well.  These schemes are designed to “make money”, as applied to a population, willing or not, submersed in an economy fundamentally based on opportunism, particularly the stock market realms of the economy.

When I picked fruit, it was all day long up tall ladders, while at the same time someone sold stock they bought at $10 and sold at $20.  Nowadays a phone call or button pushed.  Merit and worth in the culture seems assigned by assets and income, yet this is all human ideas not necessarily based upon fact of individual worth or character at all.

We treat the criminal buying a new car the same as someone who picked fruit their whole life to afford that car. Inherit a fortune, win a lottery, and you think you are fixed for life.  You may be fixed in more ways than one; your heart nd soul may be disconnected from this world you are immersed in.

With our joy in winnings, personal economic goals achieved, is the economy,  usually loaded with schemes detached from ground realities, even on the self radar? Though they involve much gaming and a money based identity framing, winning and success are their mind frames, based not on true reality, but consensus and appearance presupposition and opinion.

The have and have not dilemma, provided with sanctioned ways of getting and a plethora of negative framing for the losers and or under-achievers.  Right in the wording; the best way to cast a spell over perception.

Bubbles are an indication of the “Ownership Culture” expanding into the population, upping the scale of up and down.  We are expected to be invested in stocks, bonds and the like for our future security.  Owning is perceived as having.  Having, as achieving self fulfillment.  We are dependent, or lead to be, on manipulative mechanisms fundamentally based upon an identity of lack, but narrated as goal and planning responsibilities.  The American Way perhaps. But it is not all that America is.

The Appearance Reality belief of material fulfillment tends to totally ignore as nonexistent, the choice of human beings who decide not to be invested in a materialism driven consumption paradigm; where earths ecosystems are already reeling from the abuse of so much “success”.

When economic “Bubble” appear, they are not perceived or acknowledged as being bubbles, not at large.  Instead they are “The Future”, the way of the new world, and you better get on board or be left behind.  Soon it seems everyone is raking in the bonus for investing in the new world order.  Why if only I…

By this time critical thinking is so old world, except for some of those really long term investment types who bank on fundamentals.  The power of making a profit is seen; folks buying bigger homes and cars, seeking the status of their alleged achievement.

Achievement, that is, based upon a scheme to tax someone.  Stock earnings are taxes; they are levied somewhere onto someone to make that “profit” for you. Unlike government taxes however, we do not “get” to vote on private tax schemes called profit.  You take a product or service or leave them.  Most do not even leave a suggestion box as far as caring what you think.

The banking/debt meltdown was initiated on bubble mentality being exposed.  Schemes, as long as they seem legal, remain invisible or are not understood, inflate pocketbooks and egos, not unlike picking the winning horse from lucky intuition and study, or a tip.   Now I can take my gass guzzling vacation around the world!  YES!!! The proof of achievement is in the profit.

But proof of what?

Changing Directions

For most Americans, the last half century was one begun with rising wages, then came the era of debt; credit financing, credit cards and more credit cards.  We banked, not necessarily on tangible rising wages this Friday, but leveraged “income” credited to the future.  This is a dramatic and fundamental change in economic policy, oddly coinciding with the rise of exporter nations pouring goods into a globalized setting.  This helps keep our declining real wages look as if we really are better off.

Real wealth growing is in ways gone for many Americans.  Hard work does not necessarily give you more than a bad back and bills unable to be paid.  But look! Another credit line! This fundamental shift is base upon the usual opportunistic exploitation.   Now other countries become the makers of much of our goods, while we become a kind of service/investor economy.  Some still get rich from the use of cheep labor or paying workers enough to hold their effort, while skimming profit as an unseen working class tax. Clean as apple pie. As is usual in human gain; the profiting people tend to minimize the negative use of others energy.  They justify and rationalize those “others” place in life instead.

While “They” of “Their country” enters the consumer driven consensus reality, Why I am helping them come out of poverty.  Giving them work and a much higher standard of living. But all while American workers, overall, are demoted on the international scene.  Companies want wage cuts to compete with the lowly paid international worker.  This drives wages down by competition inference on the world market.  The once promised health care and retirement are now: ‘Your bankrupt! what happened to my retirement contract?!’

There is a great industry of denial cranking propoganda out regarding Freedom, Tax, Government, Regulation, Free Markets, Capitalism, Socialism, etc.  The handiest way to detect who does not base their beliefs on fact or objective context are by detecting who is espousing “faith” and attacking science as if it is just a made up simplistic faith based endeavour of liberals or egg headed elites.  Park your Volvo and Latté hear.  You non realistic person you.

Some science is faith based, but in general peer review science encourages critical thinking based on provable theory, and acknowledges a fundamental claim; not to a-priori unquestionable knowns, but data that must both fit theory and continue to, or a “higher reason” establishes a new understanding.

Me believing in climate change driven by human influence, does not make it true.  The data and knowledge of chemistry must, along with unprecedented double hemispheric meltdowns moving in tandem with changes in earths chemistry directly correlated (albeit with time delay ecosystem absorbtion dampening and other dynamic influences) with human injections into the environment.

But complexity and nuance is the nemesis of science, as corporate invested industries profiteering off of said changes in chemistry can debunk complicated understanding with ease of application emotional mind paint sprayers.

Ah.  The simplicity of faith, so easy to steer when critical thinking is unplugged and rationalization inserted as reason.

Gamblers have a history of denying the problem and hoping for their overdue winnings. This is the nature of addiction.

Investment, as in the stock market, is gambling.  It also is a pyramid scheme; it takes a mass of buyers somewhere for something, to make the pyramid grow, and especially to make the top higher.

We, or the culture, the society, sanctions some gambling and not others. What the culture allows is usually removed from its negative connotation. Now kinds of cognitive dissonance can be assuaged, especially for some of the religious and others who believe is system “wholes” or the unity of Life and process.

Your investments become your business in a Darwinian winners and losers like contest.  But this contest never was truly fair, no matter the parade of abstractions such as success or freedom or responsibility one drags in for gambling to provide a facade of niceness.  If not nice, a detached individualism keeps the cash in the mine column.  Nicely compartmentalized form whole-istic conceptualizations that respect the inner and inter-relatedness of all things.

The BIG BUBBLE is the bubble of denial regarding both materialism and consumerism at a practically exponential rate on the world stage.  The relative elites who play the investment games require in place cognitive dissonance abating outlets; be they philosophical or detached energy such as spectator sports or other means of not paying attention to what is the Whole of Life.

Economic bubbles are indicating that our culture is drowning in its own excesses, and these are spreading throughout the world. The industry of denying the excess and exploitation of environments, while codifying “achievements”, “individual goals” and “success” into narratives detached of social, economic and environmental consequence and accountability.

The bubbles are indicative of cultural denial and obfuscation.

Oh Yeah

Bubbles are for bursting.  And the real life raft left is not materialistic or on any investment portfolios.

Have a good afterlife, cause retirement funds just lost $2,000,000,000,000.00 in 15 months.

new dollar

If you know of limitations, you know of balance.

So what?

We require context to know what balance will require.

With the the US economy becoming a globalised corporate run show, gas price increases meant that more money went to who owned the gas. Since we do not all receive cost of living increases consummate with expenses, we must cut back or get more income. Those with stocks in oil companies receive the shift in dollars. Those without either do more or do with less. The effect of this shift is to put the weight upon the “mass” of consumers. This is done whether the shift is caused by “nature” or human made decisions in corporations and markets to milk the Commons for all it is worth.

Now put this shift in balance to other sectors of the economy, and you have a gross negative pull. Problematic areas in hiding now come bounding out of the closet to seem as the new cause. Some can even blame these weaknesses falling to the floor, instead of the biggest weakness of all–opportunism itself. Many of the wealthiest few seem to believe they can take what they wish from the Commons, and put back nothing. Not even respect.

Socialism for corporations, requires those beyond direct control of corporate balance sheets, to pay for the corporations “ownerships” way. Societies pay all the increase in corporate benefits, and continue to pay for their own as well. Likely in some respects, to lose benefits of a once growing income for the average citizen. With effectively less money to go around, other things must come down or atrophy.

Those on fixed incomes are becoming more impoverished. China is currently funding much of our recent prosperity. That aspect of the world Commons, will also deliver bills to be paid by the USA, others and our environments.–We cannot prosper indefinitely from mortgaging the future to make now seem stable. The so called free market and what the market will bare does not give concern or accountability’s to the Commons by those exploiting it.

This philosophical perversion, believes the earth itself is an infinite sort of abstraction. Opportunist refuse, generally, to even think they owe anything back for their use of the Commons. They think they just take, and win for getting. Their return is conceived as a give back of whatever their product or service was. Then, the law or whatever lets them keep all they can keep, period.

This is an alienation from the Commons delusion. These essentially disturbed folks then go on to demean and condemn those who have a more whole-istic view. A view which is as obvious to many as gravity itself. We have people, then, who feel they can ostracise themselves from responsibility to the Commons of Life. To oppose their view, is then condemned as some sort of fault or failure of other individuals character or initiative, or an alien lack of support for societies paradigm.

That the opportunistic view insist that only its way is the right way, and altering views are wrong or unwelcome in society, is privileges opportunism applying its cognitive dissonant associations to deny the cancerous societal and environments impacts of rampant self centered opportunism. These rationalizations often buttressed by a list of cult like Thought-terminating clichés; notions that shame or otherwise divert consideration of vital societal and earth threatening conditions. It is stunning to consider that humankind is being effectively prevented from addressing many critical issues for the benefit of the delusional few.

This is simple common sense, yet come election times, ideologies come along to blame the real abuse cause, perhaps to some degree, but then other motivational factors come into consideration. For controlling corporate power interest and those they have “hired”; these we expect to put out false fronts of cause to seduce followers in the corporate ideologies paradigm as it relates to tagged mindsets in target audiences. We are getting deeper into the fool-o-sphere.

For some companies will feel the pinch of not being in on the windfall profit or commodities reasons for the jump in cost of its product. Some companies will not be in the position to be a societal imperative, such as transportation and power are. Some, such as car companies, will see their products suffer from lack of turnover or the public abilities to pay for new product. So even the speculative profiteering company and its investors, will eventually feel some pull downward from their greed.

Personally, I would suggest that one never actually gets away with greed or deception, no matter that many can think that they have, or that those do. I believe spiritual consequence instantly accompanies behavior that disregards the Whole of the Commons. One may lie, for instance, and “get away” with something hidden, but their own soul then becomes more estranged from Creations Core (hidden). This happens regardless of fancy homes and cars. Some times we can see right through surface appearance to deeper truths.

In case I have not noticed it, greed and deception, no matter how seductive or opportunistically profitable, will degenerate the heart and soul of the Commons—the relationships throughout our worlds as we experience them. In worse case scenarios, greed and excess can bring the whole world into literal depression. Then, we generally share in the self destructive behaviors that the powerful spread out from their influence. In democracies, we can even say that we “own” even societies worst abuses of the individual and Commons.

Many humans can detect this degeneration of the soul endemic to greed and opportunism, just by viewing the characteristics of fellow humans so engaged. From past hard times, when movie making was already around, not just stories of these folks were portrayed, but the very behavioral styles that go along with them. This is shaky ground to look from, since appearance does not tell all there is necessarily to ones character. And just as in the movies, humans act out roles felt related to the activities they engage in.

It is in fact at times a perceptual bias; where assumptions, lets say of dress or other appearance, are assumed to indicate a lack of quality of character, simple because a consensus prejudice has been inculcated into society that says, let’s say, that one with a beard is not trusted, for they seem to be hiding something. Just being different than the norm can raise conformist suspicions, perhaps, while it is the conformity itself that may well be most suspicious. This election we have ones vegetable food choices being considered a sign of contempt.

We are always being tested in these regards. It is this years election cycle that will demonstrate how easily fooled many of us are. Do we know what the greater context is? Or will some pandering to a certain specific presumed negative seem to swing our important decision? Do I know what power interest are in command of most information avenues? Do I “get” what the historical difference in the two current political parties really is? Or can some fear based pandering to certain specifics or negatives be made to seem so large that they swing my concept of the Common Good?

With the balance and harmony of society becoming increasingly under greater stress; the need for a new economic and political paradigm would seem obvious as the sky itself, yet is seemingly kept predominately off the pubic radar screens.

Wont get fooled again! No. I will never go that far. But we all are being fooled much more than we either know or admit to. Our complicity’s in our own possible cognitive dissonant assuaging rationalizations, does put the ownership of the fate of the Commons where it belongs. Right in our choices.

To be fooled or not to be fooled may well be the actual choice. While deciding what otherwise benefits us from some subjective or opportunistic angle will likely continue the losing streak America seems committed to.

BLOG.ALASKANPERSPECTIVE.COM: Deepak Chopra on Sarah Palin’s candidacy

20 Million secret votes a day

20 Million secret votes a day is my possibly conservative estimate. 20,000,000 decisions to postpone or not do something because of gas prices.

I will be shopping less, driving less each day, and there is likely not to be a return to what was once normal. Less income will be available for all the things of life. That will then trickle up to mean less sales at stores, more unemployment, and most of all we have a government that is fine with its citizens being drowned in the bathtub. Unlike New Orleans, where the political and ideological contempt for our commons was on full view. This inflationary rain will quietly kill jobs, and prior lifestyles will be destroyed and washed away.

Some percentage of the population is now in this situation, 20 million may well be conservative. Certainly some of us will condense our car ventures, but the overall continuous rise in prices an not in income will translate to a decreasing ability to buy things.

The stupid are fine with this, particularly those who remain stupid because this money squeeze is not an issue for them. The cut tax mind blank will make sense to these types. After all, everyone can use some more money right? This truly is stupid-think. It is as if the interrelationship of things is oblivious to the short term, bottom line dwellers. They do not give a thought to the declining infrastructures. They seem to be unconcerned with the desperation any will be driven to to get more money. Sure, there will be both legitimate and illegitimate attempt to increase income. There is a point of no return in this though.

For some percentage of us, we may be too old to do what we spent a lifetime doing. A people, a wholesome people, know each ones interest is their own. These are the wise ones and not the institutionally dumb. Just as there is a response to the nation attacked from without, the wise know that every insult from within does have ramifications for all. Much of the population does seem to have been institutionally brainwashed into the individualism that pretends we are not connected, and so are left all unto our own. This is what is known as misanthropy, in this case an inebriated conception of separation from the whole.

As it just happens to turn out, the self divided and conquered country is a predatory set up mindset. It is truly stupid-think. The commons that connects us all and is the primal infrastructure is cognitively denied, or thought of as; So what? This is how the hurricane Katrina showed us New Orleans, a moment unscripted. Some of us woke up from our stupid delusion that government had interest other than the wealthy.

Actually, the Governor did try to address the situation, but she was up against the ideological machinery of separation and alienation. Rove was in charge of metaphorically drowning her, and the media obliged. She could not fathom that the federal government would use the occasion to seek political advantage as its ultimatum for assistance. How had this nation of the once upon a time “We the People” been metamorphosed into a country that says; well, we will only help our kind? Think like my party or you will be abandoned.

As it turns out again, if one can keep fear in front of common understanding and so common sense, all manner of perversion of the commons can be made to seem like the thing to do. One of our political parties is a fear machine. People do vote for it out of a fear based hope, that change or understanding will be kept away. That they need not change a thing to feel right about themselves. They are willing to abandon the commons over this fear based separation anxiety. Might makes right becomes the answer to most conflict, that and just abandon whomever, since to give help or aid will only weaken them and so make them dependent.

This dependency addiction does seem to happen when those who are helped are assisted in a kind of contempt for their problematic situation. Unfortunately for those who conditionalize their willingness to be human, behavioral blackmail creates the same reactive dysfunctions in adults as we see in children who are emotionally blackmailed by their parents or guardians. But if we think humans are inherently evil, we worship what is evil in them and us, not what is right.

And so it is necessary for these conservative, or separation based self interest, to constantly “program” the population into alienation based behavior. Contempt for those not like us becomes “natural” under the divided and conquered mindset, basic tribalized suspicion of the “other”. Aberrant, or questionable behavior in the population, serves to reinforce their broken off perception, along with the superiority/inferiority complex driven by sycophants of the powerful who are well funded to keep the emotionalized contempt alive and unwell in cognitively dissonant alienated identities. The corporate press and media are loaded with those who are willing to spout their mental illnesses as common sense, good and true.

But I digressed a bit. We are all in Katrina’s New Orleans now. There are no plans to address the atrophying state of affairs in many of our pocket books. The poor in China are currently being used to hold above watter the credit card debt being run up by our in denial lifestyle. The land allegedly of, for, and by the people, has become the land of, for, and by those with money only. And for a while, those who will vote against their own interest while thinking they are standing up for what is right. Which s a self defeating behavior.

The wealthy have the spiritual perversion disassociation that is required to justify or rationalize their privileges over the rest of us. If we fundamentally worship evil, this is not a difficult task for them to do to achieve the contrapuntal notions necessary to have them seem more god-like and obviously then deserving of their much greater slice of the commons. I earned all I got! Good for you then?

This fact remains; there are no plans, not for healing and restoration. There are plans for larger prisons and containment camps. There are plans for that universal tax called profits to be raised no matter the consequence. There are plans to eliminate any rights that get in the way of the rule of the elite. There may be no plans to help the average Americans, but there certainly are plans to restrict their options for the future. For those who seem proud of their separation identification and achievements above the Commons–the earth under your identities containment dike is starting to liquefy.
