But Nowhere Found — A Poem On Forgetting And Receeding

Denying certainty of place with uncertainty in position

Radiance is unwed of its black background

and darkness meanders without its star

as if silence knows not of sound

with time ever proceeding

but nowhere found

Far Out Man! History International UFO Show Next Thursday

IMG_3605I came across an add for the cable network; History International, claiming to have sited a new UFO Special to be aired Thursday June 18  2009 at    PM.

It might be my imagination, or might be the mix of a lot of slick special effects, speculation and jumping to conclusion, but it actually seems UFO information is getting more dignified and difficult to dismiss.  Police, pilots, air traffic controllers, military personnel all witnessing what seem beyond atmospheric generated phenomenon.

I put UFO stuff on my blog, since it is a potential earth and cultural shattering event.  One that is plausible in a vast Universe with us floating around one star.  You know they say there are more stars around us that grains of sand on earth. And if the “deep field”, shots of the Hubble telescope are any measure, where they picked a blank space in the sky to do a long range light gathering in an area the size of a grain of sand held at arms length and found 3,000 galaxies, (gulp); there is a whole lot of stuff going on around us.

I have been interested in space since very young.  Had my share of UFO like occurrences, some of which are quite possibly completely subjective and false, due to waking dream state and cultural interference with imagination processing.  A couple not, with someone else being with me at the time.  It seems completely absurd to think only our planet has intelligent life as we know it.  How and why they would be here is all speculation.

I do not believe meeting extraterrestrials will necessarily be a good thing for humankind.  I am not looking for “them” to save us from ourselves. Contact may go either way; move humankind into a new expansive paradigm of intelligent life presentation and participation, or possibly amplify our own dysfunctions and lack of harmony.  A good reason to keep contact at bay.

None of my photo’s here are UFO’s

Trying to get that UFO show-link info up here is like trying to find gold at Roswell.

Extraterrestrials need not apply.

No Service without shirt or shoes.  Yes this means pants too.  And put on you properly, not just held in bag or something.

My. How Spams Have Changed

What happened to the good old days when spam was spam?  Pages and pages of stuff I did not wish to know about.

But now spam seems to have gone all Eastern European on us.  Perhaps it is code talk of some kind.  With the right decoder one could discover what one wished not to know.

Now my spam can seem to be all not English.  I have an in English blog.  Did all the other spam get all spammed out?  Do spammers think we really would be so thrilled to get a comment that we would put their “product?” on our little blog?

Sometimes spam gets through to the real comments with generic sounding praise directed at the blog, like; Great stuff. Keep up the good work. Who? Me?  Which work? Great how and why?  The lack of relevant specifics is a giveaway to likely generic non relevance.

But why would one OK stuff like; voujk osxnzyt svxzkopk, ?

So if you know what that sort of thing means, don’t tell me.  (example was not from an actual spam, just a semblance)

If the spam is from Outer Space, well, that would be news.

Area 51 Where Are You?

Our Mother Was A Neandertal: OK With Me

-Is he going to say it? Really? Where is the simian shame? Lets not all go ape over the controversy! Oh! We are apes? Sorry whatever ape I might be offending here.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simian

The rational/objective thing about scientific thought, is that it will allegedly change an assumption with compelling verifiable evidence. While those who wish to debunk scientific thought seem to require one apparent contradiction, just one will do to prove science’s falsity. Well also political, spiritual and many other debatable positions. How convenient.

Anyways

I love how the One Life that existence is, (in my opinion), keeps revealing more to us if we but look. Although here I will venture into the speculative zone of hypothesis, and not offer too much evidence but fanciful conjecture.

http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/bigphotos/24570673.html

It came as a surprise to some that Neaderthal’s (some say Neandertal) have the same advanced language gene that we modern humans do. This caused some to speculate as to how and when that gene was shared. For some time, some claimed that Neadertal’s big problem was that they did not have our fancy human talky ability. Now there is conjecture that perhaps we had it all backwards, and it was Neandertal’s who had the language gene first, being that they had a much more codependent lifestyle than the more lone wandering on the plains with better weapons proto modern humans.

(So we may be the experiment; whether smart long term strategy and highly refined speech will remain a key to human advancements or decline.)

The speculation proceeds to human and Neandertal interbreeding; that way back when, we were much more similar in life pursuits, which may have lead, not so much to conquest, but to integration and assimilation pushing out the prior forms. Somewhere and sometime, it seems likely, that hundreds of thousands of years ago, and or much more near, what was to be our present humanity was a more broad definition than today.

Being One Creation, (in my view), I am fine with Neandertal mothers and fathers being some of our ancestors. This is Life after all, and not necessarily and ideological competition, although some may insist on that, or other ontological presumptions.

Once I had heard this debate about Europeans being imbued with characteristics indicative of residual Neandertal genes, and a point was made that Neandertal and humans do not share a certain feature in the head and neck connection. Then someone wrote in that they have that very same “Neandertal” head connection from their Lithuanian roots (Disclosure; I am half Lithuanian and do have the cranial feature. It is or isn’t in the center back of ones skull at the ear-line). http://www.eupedia.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24164

Well guy. You may be an ape or Neandertal dude, but I’m a Hobbit! Hobbit.http://www.eonix-papers.com/2009/04/28/hobbits/

OK then.

That’s the trouble with you you-mans; you just don’t know who you are.

SURVIVAL: Same Old Questions Needing New Answers

THE WALL AND SURVIVAL OF THE…

The human need for self definition is the same; Where do I belong; How do I fit in; What do I expect; What knowledge is required; Am I approved of; What is my view of others; What is my world; What do I want; What do I believe; Where must I go next; When am I right with myself; Who do I Love; Who loves me; Who wants me in their life; What do I love about life; Where do I belong next; What are my dreams and ambitions? And on…

The old world may have had some simple and static answers for these, often given by an elder, a family member; the culture. Some need for self fulfillment comes with biological imperative; I must eat and drink to continue, or such things as communicate, walk or ride to get somewhere. Others have that environmental/cultural kind of persuasion; You need God; You need create a family like this; You must chase your dreams; You need be honest; It’s a dog eat dog world; Go for the gusto; Be all you can be; The winner is who gets there first. And on.. In our modern so called western world civilization, there is a self narrative to become the best you can be. Seems a good idea with an easy sell. It does have a sense of potential competition set into the self realization goodness. Proving oneself seems an imperative in many cultures.

Combine the notion best, with competition, and especially alpha intention realization, and it becomes not such a big leap to consider that bigger is better. There are many real world examples of this in the cultural narrative today; grow your company equals success; grow your muscles equals success; grow your stock portfolio equals success; sell more stuff equals greater success. These keep inching closer to the threshold, however, of cancer. And when cancer wins…

The cultural paradigm becomes the software running in conversation, consideration, adds on TV and other media. We expect your to be big and to buy the best, but if you are not, there are less big status items to hope to buy. You can just get better at getting that bigger self and becoming more of what you can be. If not for yourself, then for your friends and family. There are even patriarchal and matriarchal comforts that can issue from your bigness, as you dispense your success to your family and community.

Ah. Life is good. Was there some problem I started with?

The problem is the cumulative effect of many forms of this idea of success. We may fawn over the hyper-successful. Wish to be like them. Hope that somehow our winning ticket comes in, at this lottery called Life. We can do all this obvious good, seemingly trusting the accomplishment that we assume will ensue from our success. Never realizing, that what we have defined may in fact be a terminal illness, not just for us, but for all of us.

It is not surprising then, that so much cognitive dissonance is seemingly encouraged; Don’t worry, be happy; You cannot change the world on your own, it’s always been this way. Who are you to think you can change it? Beyond this, there are institutions of religious and political nature (usually this veils economic realities of status quo’s), that seek to divert our attention from the real problems of the way we live, for concerns of a more abstract and ethereal nature. These become as shell games; diverting attention from serious problems of fact for more belief oriented “solutions” of blame of others with a sense of self purification. Most argument seems to entail some essential obsession with enforcing blame upon, than with real solution that go beyond symptom.

Life presents us with a question It always presented, but now the clock seems to be running out. Diversion and denial will help each of us to be a Nero; fiddling as our Rome burns. We will be consumed with the problematic minutiae of our trifles; are my strings tight; What happened to my audience? Oh, practice makes perfect.
.

Yet smoke is here. A suicide note is here, with my and your name on it. There are blank notes still attached to the intention of each life. The question becomes; Which note will I actually sign; one for Life or one just for death?

The one for Life moves ones journey onward into greater Love. The one for death may well be the failure of dreamt for success. Definitions do matter; To succeed at knowing more love by being more love, or succeeding at denying this deep interrelationship to all things.

There is a new paradigm imperative; My life is not only my little world, it is all. I am invested in everything great and small. Nothing is beyond my concern as all Life is connected as One.

War Goes Wild Robots

As war becomes more and more animated by robotics, will we end up like that Star Trek episode form the 60’s? On it, alien folks, but like you and I, had their name come up on a computer war program, where they then reported to the extermination machine. This mechanical rendering of war thus kept the waring folks from ruining all their other valuable stuff and planets.

A Taste of Armageddon

I bring this up because of the technology advantage lure that is pushing countries like the USA to automate warfare. Nations with the know-how think it is A NO-BRAINER. All is fair and all that. Use your advantage like in any war. Drones, fake insects, beams, whatever are doing the cave dwellers in before they do in you.

But back in Swish cheese land of tunnels, they consider you a coward for not having the nerve to encounter face to face. Meanwhile back on the job, Mike or Mary report to work in Nevada or somewhere to guide missiles onto targets. Then leave the job to pick up the kids for soccer practice.

What then seems to be happening, is there is more emotional disorder with the day job warriors than the hot fire on the ground ones. For the virtual reality combatants; They see destruction, they imagine what happens to other humans, then they go home to their normal life, tucking the kids in at night in peace and quiet. What happened there, when that computer glitch, apparently sent the rocket into a different neighborhood than intended? Heck, that’s war? It’s them or us? Some nice frame that will make a terminal oops feel nice and cuddly?

And with the fleeting nature of secrets, as in the protracted nuclear war race, that fly that can go give a bad guy or gal a terminal rash or nanobots nasty. what happens when those flies come home to roost, and everyone seems to be using them? Oops. It was a good idea at the time. You had to be there. We never imagined this would come to this.

Then will we decide enough is enough? Let the computers fight the war , while we will pay the real world price with clean and simple bye, bye machines.

—- you Star Trek!

The TV made me do it.
