FAKE DEMOCRACY

How can true democracy exist?

It needs basic requirements, most of which we do not have any longer, or never did.

The public needs to be informed from all quarters. Well these days, we hardly hear anything on the poor, the disadvantaged, environmental impacts of economic decisions. Mostly subdued by corporate interest. A good part of the damage was Ronald Reagan’s, destruction of the fairness doctrine.

Votes need to be counted under transparent conditions. Now without even paper trails, impossible to prove non-manipulation. This damage to democracy has been perpetrated by conservative status quo interest.

We do not even have a right to vote! It is a “privilege”, thus deniable by whomsoever privilege rules. This opens the door to mostly conservative interest to deprive voters a ballot.

A true democracy should minimally require a majority to elect any representative or president. It is unlikely but conceivable now that we could elect a president with only 40% of the vote. What kind of union is that? who will own it?

Without any fairness to the actual ability to reach the public, money has become the power behind votes and ideas.

In the end, an electoral college elects the president. Time for us to graduate to a real democracy.

If we want to talk about freedom. Under the lack of democratic tradition evolving here, we may not have much time left.

We have now a fake democracy.

ARE WE FACING THE END OF DEMOCRACY?

THE PROCLAIMED CONSERVATIVE HERO RONALD REAGAN, DID MORE THAN THROW THOSE SELF SUFFICIENT SYMBOL SOLAR COLLECTORS OFF THE WHITE HOUSE ROOF. HE ALSO TORE UP THE FAIRNESS DOCTRINE, LAYING THE WAY FOR THE RIGHT WING CORPORATE ECHO CHAMBER THAT HAS MADE TRUTH INTO ALLEGED BIAS.

Who knows if president Carters solar collectors would have gone on to spark self sufficiency from US dependence on foreign oil, while lessening environmental degradation. The so called conservatives have done the opposite, sending the nation on this road to both empire making confrontations, and democracy undermining deregulation.

We have under the conservative rule, no interest in the Whole of society, except to keep “lower achievers” dependent on the wealthy for survival. This is a dominator paradigm. Just as New Orleans was abandoned with fingers pointed everywhere but to the very top. The American public knew the top executive could save an American city, if there was the will!

Unfortunately, with this new breed of opportunist conservative, every disaster becomes an opportunity for a friend or future interest to owe its allegiance to their cause. America itself is now surrendering its commons and its legacy of being a caring freedom loving people with responsibilities to all, to predators who are as predators have always been- out to stay on top.

WHAT I DON’T KNOW CANT HURT ME!—NOT!

Make no mistake about it. (That overused claim politicians use.) Business people telling editorial staffs what to focus on and what to drop based on economic bottom lines has convoluted truth seeking to avoid both the needs of society, especially the poor, and the truth that may reflect badly upon themselves. Eliminating the fairness doctrine was the undermining, below the American public belts punch, making full truth seeking to be defined as liberal bias. (I could read a thousand post on-line today, whining about liberal bias, but I would like to keep my own mind.)

Even liberals talk about; “No wonder Bush won twice.” while describing some Democratic infighting or lack of cohesion. Truth seems to be on the side that he never won fairly once, or at the minimum, the second time was a default, since it issued from the first cheat, and resulting failure to detect the 9-11 attack. All of this manipulated and contorted by the spin machinery of a “free press” that has no responsibility or accountability to providing the whole truth. It has been said that those elections, if carried out in another country, we would not have legitimized it! The Forth Estate, our freedoms guarantee, has a noose around its neck, watching the guy with the foot on the chair.

Even as a kid, when I heard William F Buckley speak on his debate show, I would be flabbergasted at how his ad hominem emotionally concluded barbs were thought of as intellectually honest, by himself! But I had grown up hearing similar ad hominem swipes. Conservatives especially, seem interested in getting the arguments out of intellectual accuracy, or any true empathy toward the plight and concerns of others than themselves. It is a peculiar self centering that thrives on name calling and cult like group think consensus reality passing as truthfulness, to not be questioned. Liberalism is by nature open to question, but not all proclaimed liberals are.

It is a travesty to observe the Democratic contenders, Barack Obama, but especially Hillary Clinton, use extraordinarily spacious logic to promote their cause. Surrogates and associations are now taken by the public as being the actual thoughts of the candidates, unless they are instantaneously disowned. John McCain seems to be given a bit of a pass on his associations, relative to the Democrats. I wonder why?

WHY VOTES MATTER AND HOW MANY

What is my actual position I hear some of you ask? Democracy’s must have fair elections to survive. They should also require a majority of voters, not some fractional plurality. Yes. We then require a more involved and deliberately knowledgeable public. What else? Whomever wins this coming time better include people from across their aisle. The damage done requires impute from more than one ideological bent. We need to return to the best and not the weight of despotic like loyalties sinking the ship of state.

We are one nation and one people for heaven sake! We must rise to the biggest sense of those words.

I have ventured into my own belief zone as my blog title exclaims. Yet I would be quite surprised to hear conservatives admit to mistakes, fundamental errors of judgment (except they were not conservative enough!) or any basic untruth possible to their philosophical positions. When questioning is the first thing they deflect, this state becomes their own lot in life. Now that they are trying to force us all to agree with them, and undermine attempts at fact checking and honest evaluations of situations, to protect their abstract delusional sense of purity. Their counterpoints in the world will both resist and respond with similar tactics. If their reign of illusion continues its polluted march forward, all democracies will be threatened with extinction. And possibly much more than that.

CONCLUSION–INCLUSION

That any of the worlds conservative movements cannot include the vast diversity of human ideas engaged toward greater understandings of environmental inter and codependencies is an anathema to the Wholeness of Life and Being that exist beyond tiny human comprehensive abilities. The accountable and responsible light that this awareness cast on being human is a challenge to us all. May the brightness of Unconditional Love cause their eyes to open, and cry into forgiveness. That is the proof of free will.

VIOLENCE AND SELF CONTROL

Being involved with family violence control puts me in an odd situation.

I have avoided physical fighting my whole life. Childhood became the most significant influence on this. My father had told me, and I took it as holy law, that you as a guy, do not strike women. I cannot say that my older sisters and I did not have shoving matches, but for me that would have been self defense. Our family dynamics was heavy on the mental sparing which can seem actually more devastating.

The physical violence in our house was later done, after my mothers death, by a step mother-guardian. She would not hesitate to hit, throw objects and threaten with knives. She sent my father to the hospital with a big gash across his forehead. I slept with the largest kitchen knife under my pillow as a self defense plan for a knife attack while I was asleep. She had hit me in the face while I was asleep, then locked me out in the snow in my pajamas. My father committed suicide not long after that.

Earlier I had incidences when someone seemed to be threatening my life as a freshman high school. I was literally about 100 lbs. and someone morbidly obese around 500 lbs, held me under water to near drowning during pool time in a crowded pool. He had done this more than once. It became so serious to me (swallowing-inhaling watter) that I thought I would have to take matters into my own hands. One more time, and I was going to put him in a headlock with my legs around his neck and hold him under until it meant something. I was a totally inhibited kid and did not trust authority to do anything but blame the victim. So I had to weigh in my mind, possibly causing someones death and being called and treated as a murderer.

As it turned out, he never did that again. But I was sure it would have been me to blame and I would have felt I had no options in my own self defense. No one seemed to notice him doing this during the pool commotion, so I believed no one would accept my story. It just never came through to experience. In physical confrontations during boyhood, I found I had to keep the potential for rage out of me, especially since I had no doubt that I would take down someone twice my size. It took someone quite a bit larger and older to overcome me. I was afraid of my rage and how if unleashed it would seem out of my control.

(As evidence that I am not just delusional about this strength proclamation. When it rained a lot during physical education, outdoor activities were called off and we were put into the gym, we freshmen and the sophomores, to have a thing called “bombardment”. This is where there are two sides chosen, a line across the middle of the gym, where the two sides throw rubber balls a little smaller than a soccer ball at each other. Out of about 150 students divided in two, little me was one of the last picked, last or second to last.

Well the first game I discovered that being in the lower 10% in size had me a bit afraid, so I hung back as many did. All it took was the guy next to you ducking and a ball out of nowhere taking you out, while leaving a big red mark somewhere. I decided to risk all and take it to the line next game.

You could see most of what was being thrown up front. I found out I could catch any-ones ball thrown at me, but no-one could hold onto mine. I was also very accurate. I won that game. The last guy standing. I was picked second of all players next game. The team first picking, picked his seeming best friend first, so I was first on the other team picked. The next game was the last. It oddly ended up being me the last standing on my team, and a very out of shape guy hiding and dodging in the corner on the other side when the period ran out. I could no longer throw fast enough to eliminate time for him to move. That is how little old me was as a skinny five feet two.)

TRUTH VS ADVICE

What I just said I cannot say to someone involved in family violence. As far as physical violence goes, I do not hit women. I have told ones who gave me any actual physical provocation that, “If you do that again, we are over!” I do not tolerate fighting, especially in the home relationships. I try to avoid physical confrontations with anyone. Now that I am a “senior citizen” I find you are not seen as a threat overall, or there is a kind of automatic respect. Most of that sense of being on guard is much diminished now. I take peace as my way and it path is most often open.

I have found that emotional abuse has prove a bit more difficult to not take part in, compared to a sense of law that one just never does such a thing. I grew up that way, making fun of someones mistake or being ridiculed. It is then a model of behavior I have had to contain and reverse. To do that requires a will and an understanding of the Golden Rule or Categorical Imperative. I need to establish the sense that not only does “what goes around comes around.”, but it is already damaging my life. Abusing others in any way is profoundly self abuse.

I need to see (learn to recognize) when I am treating another like I would not wish to be treated, and immediately review what my self respect or control problem really is. We are often given the information from another that we are on some kind of attack and they becoming defensive, or initiating their own retaliations.

Still, when expressing guidance to someone, it will often fall flat if it is preached or describes as something I am so above, and can’t understand how someone could do such a thing. That fits as a key with very few dysfunctional programs. I have to speak out of and through my own life, the love in your heart has to be in it, to be a gift expected to have a chance at being received.

PROGRESSIVE OR REACTIONARY

In some ways I have described political tactics and ways of manipulation. All manipulation is in some way an abuse of the truth. Its vibrational disturbance will not go unnoticed, except perhaps, by like minded dysfunction. The same situations and rationalizations that come to effect home life are used in the greater life of our world. Even if everyone does it, doesn’t make it right.

We will find manipulative arguments covered if various guises meant to hide their intention, and instead, be represented as your own interest. Fear and insecurity are great hiding places for manipulative interest. Optimistic vision can also be used as a trick to catch someones interest, then later prove to have been a ruse. We need to be both critically minded on the one hand, and have our heart held out open in the other. True adults can do this.

The upcoming election seems to be being based on fear and insecurity vs. hope and optimism, both of these being held as paramount in differing ways by the candidates. I am not saying that we are not justified in having these inclinations. What I am encouraging is the “true believers” and the doubtful to have their wits about them. As citizens and voters, it is up to us to determine the fact from fiction, the hidden agendas from the promises of safety and security. For power will seek to inject its corruptions into all areas of life if let be.

We each are freedom, love, and truths best and last hopes. Better to stand with understanding under their tall light, than the ignorance that festers in the shadows of misunderstanding.

WHICH WAY THE WIND BLOWS 

WATCH THE NARRATIVES SPROUTING THAT SEEM TO TAKE HOLD IN THE SOGGY MIDDLE OF THE FIELD OF THE POPULATION.

We have the population poised for mind-blank. Fill in the synaptic connections.

We will forget who got us into the mess we are in as a nation. Fear will turn this mushy swishy middle voter, into fallen over sure, wishing once upon a fear.

Unfair. May I repeat, unfair and out of context story-lines will be created. Good people will seem sinister, the swishy swashy middle fence sitters will tumble to the side spewing the most vile and veiled innuendo. Its weight pulling them as if by cause of reason.

It happens every time!

Works like a charm!

“Did you hear who so and so really is? Shocking!”

They suggested we were tired of the mud, the out of context and ground up truth made into voodoo dolls, but the needles stick into the straw every time!

Sure the confident “polar opposites” may be unswayed by the manure spreader, rightly or wrongly. It is that mind-crunched middle, musing over who knows what; a certain word or concept focus groups have found to be a sword, a hammer, a bullet, who knows. They will make up that confused and ambivalent mind of theirs, or sit out until someone tells them what to think, a friend or family member? Possibly a smiling and sincere door knocker, a promise made to someone over the phone? They do this stuff for a reason!

Then the once confused will feel the power. Their vote will become pointed, like a weather vane into the breeze of localized mind controlled zeitgeist.

With a heart of wind and metal, they will become; the decider. They may receive a little sticker after that, saying, “I VOTED“, as if that actually meant something to be proud of in their instance.

Then they will return to their field with outstretched arms and funny hat; hay sticking out from their cuffs, hoping against hope, to keep the thoughts from landing in the field and consuming all of their confusion. In this mission they will, until next harvest season, or a fall burn-off, be quite successful.

THE FAKE ARGUMENT (attack and run)

THE FAKE ATTACKS

ARE REAL!

It is meant to deceive, but seem as a revelation. One needs to first be aware of the “feel” of disingenuous reasoning. Barack Obama, in particular, is now up against bloggers and pundits who give their ad hominem ways, away. But J.M. and H.C. are targets of such attack as well.

When your argument uses an opponents middle name, but you do not use the middle names of other candidates, you are leading the argument out of reason. One post on my tags today, quickly set up its game plan with this manipulation.

If you are going to use one candidates questionable associates (or genetic or family history) as evidence of some grand conspiracy, point out how the others, in comparison, do not have questionable relationships. Accuracy as an aspect of fairness, denotes what an argument is made of. It is that simple.

The facts are, that all of the current crop of candidates have associated, one way or another, with people who have their own fascist like beliefs. Like it or not, Americans have beliefs that span the spectrum of political and religious notions. One would need a miracle shield to always have avoided all of them, or who could seem unsavory in a certain light. That is a reality, to put one out of it, is fakery. Someone you talk to does not also translate as to being your brain, heart and soul if you come into office.

Cartoons, and manipulated or out of context photos are used by many sides to depict their sides choice as wholesome or otherwise cued to their interest, while the opposition is treated unfairly by image perceptions skewed to the presumed negative. If this is how I chose to see the choices, I am at the mercy or propaganda disguised as fact. I might have a right to think whatever I wish or believe it, just does not make it the truth. I can be quite sure to be some bit away from truth if I am easily influenced by ad hominem associations.

WHEN PASSION TURNS TO POISON

I put this out there for everyone to consider, to let some know how pretensive an argument can seem when it is built on the above charades, or cardboard card walls. To those who couch opinion in suspicion and specious reasoning while never owning up to what the truth actually is; you are both easily debunked and simple to see through by the manipulative mechanisms you chose for standing in for proof or truth. You count on the deception staying hidden. Hit and run, is the moral and ethical ground you are, by association, implicating to your own side.

The object is to scare people so fear overrules reason. I must then wonder why you chose a path where truth checking will meet the most resistance? Why critical thinking is the last thing you seem to intend to have about your own ideas presented as the way it is?

What is the truth about manipulative campaigns designed to disguise actualities, and present instead, slanted opinions masquerading as truth? Campaigns have psychologist, focus groups, some “think tanks”, linguistic experts and whatever else will allow them to present language in ways that make their own candidate seem more close to you than the others.

The easiest way to generalize and focus campaign expenses into the most bang for the buck is to use manipulative technologies because they work if not brought into the light. They can even have an impact if the light comes on too much after the attacks damage has been done. We see tactics in use meant to turn a persons strengths into impairments by negativising the context of those strengths. “Swift Boating” tactics seem to have now become a crutch campaigns rely on to smack their opponents in the leg with!

SO WHO IS REALLY SCARY?

To manipulators of mass deception, their greatest fear is pure inspiration. They live in a subconscious horror that their ruse will be seen through, rejected, and honest truth take its place. The “vision thing” is feared for being the uniting element it could be. Manipulative politics is about both dividing and controlling for ones own agenda. You may well notice how the whole of society is generally not inspired directly by an impassioned vision that includes everyone, not just in abstractions, but in heart-full wisdom. We have candidates who at times plea to their base in these ways, but not so much in ways that include everyone. That is the dividers nightmare.

Here is to seeing through both false and selective vision, to seeing how united we have to be to address the issues of our day. Here is to lending an ear to anyone who speaks to the needs of the whole, above the biases of their base.

THE (deceptive) ART OF THE FALSE PREMISE

TAGGED AND BAGGED

I find many sources of inspiration from my blog tags. I almost always respond to the ones I agree with or find a new and useful perspective or experience in. I mostly write of the ones in which I disagree. I just do not usually link to them if they are a persons opinion, not wishing to turn communication into a bunch of you said and I said but neither listen with an ear or give in an inch .

Political discourse is often filled with the false premise, it often dependent on out of context “truths” or “facts” in the ad hominem offencive attack. These sorts of false premises, false dichotomies and other mechanisms for hiding bias under alleged reason is the norm for much political antagonism. It is easy to dismiss ones opponents when their machinations are so evident to you. Ones own? Not so much.

UNDERSTANDING WHY WE DON’T UNDERSTAND, NOR WISH TO.

Politics is all about representing the attachments to ones identity as it applies to personal and civic life. I am identified with my side for some reason. These reasons can be solid and upfront, but are somewhat more likely mushy and attached to parents or ones place in life and with whom one associates or admires in the culture. These can be dubious since they introduce emotional notions that can have even more power than fact or proved theory, yet stand as an apparent ground on which my identity is firmly rooted. Many political moves are meant to shift this sand of emotional foundation, pouring water at its footings to sink it or slide your position more towards one area. This is then propaganda or other misdirection administered as if for ones own good.

Most political adds are made of this material, false premises creating whole scenarios that have little merit in true reason but are meant to turn those insecurities of ours into solid products, be they merchandise or votes. If these greatly influence your choices, you are probably quite uniformed.

TWO MISLEADING COMMENTS REGARDING THE ELECTIONS MADE TODAY

First was one I read on my post, a scenario of an Obama presidency. It was predicated on his “Christ” (my addition) like promise to talk with our enemies. The quite long and involved with foreign relations gone bad scenario that ensued was all based on the false assumption that since you said you were going to meet with your enemies, you thus were going to ignore your friends. Then it went on with the bad consequences of the Obama presidency. Ending with a quick quip about crushing the military’s moral by pulling out just in time to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Well there was another false premise; that might guarantees right. It often, as many military and intelligence assessments have suggested, led to an empowering of our adversaries in the region mentioned in the post, especially since after the might much wrong assumption and expectations were relied on as if they were facts.

I could equally posit a scenario that since the manipulated elections of 2000 and 2004, the USA has been violated from within, and so invited the ensuing disasters, by betraying its inherent trust in truthfulness. That the military itself, was betrayed by ideology and its host of false assumptions, tucked under highly questionable”facts” rendered out of bounds for democracies fourth estate, due to patriotic authoritarian march in line cult-think. Of course. Exactly what we have always fought for?

I could say that yes, the first Clinton administration was inept enough on defense, especially on small groups that could cause major harm, but that the one that replaced it, finished the pulling down of the American public trust around their ankles. The doing the opposite of whatever liberals say to do philosophy, serving to open the doors to 9-11 further than before. In all likelihood, what we experienced was what leadership is like that has been propped up and bailed out by power interest all their lives, and what that kind of arrogant yet naive dubious character traits trickle down from their model into government, leading to the countless scandals and deceptions the American public, including the military, has had to endure.

Personally, I would put more trust in naive good intentions, in a trust for hope and change, than the kind of power corruption classes that have come to dominate and perpetuate a dominator/ subservient psychology that thrives off of conflict at home and in the world, seemingly wed to imperialist ambitions of world domination.  These now codified into lifestyle, our way of life, our freedoms, or even vital national interest.  Exactly whose interest are they in?  How seductive it is to think you can force others to think some other way, as a quick fix to deep systemic world inequalities, and resource depletion and environmental pollution.  while our leaders come to double talk morals and behavior to the world as if omniscient and beyond rational questioning.

Enough said on how might guarantees true results as promised.

PART TWO

This morning there was an interview on Democracy Now, where two representatives, one of Obama and one of Clinton, discussed their view of the realities of last nights primary. Two narratives seem to be in place; one where Obama’s string of victories is broken, indicating some kind of sea change. The other that he essentially has the delegates rapped up, and did very well since just two or so weeks ago Clinton was supposed to trounce him in Texas.  (I am now running my impressions on how the conversation seemed to be and not exact statements.)

One false premise is about the “momentum” illusion that at times takes hold as a fact, even though it may be a condition of many variables, variables that would not always hold steady down the line, like historical state tendencies. But this notion becomes good emotional political fodder once unstoppable presumed momentum is broken.  We can declare everything has changed, when something has changed, but what that is may be simply the states traditional tendencies held somewhat.  Media interest certainly want the attention a fight brings to their advertisers, so pundits will declare someones sky is possibly falling. There can be this silent bias to a see-saw session being as long as possible.

The premise that two people from the same party, one who wins and the other loses the state, translates directly to the other party standing in as the winner or loser is how sound? What kind of futuristic wishy washy math is that? “I’d vote for the woman, but not the guy in my party?” Or the other way around? Is that the reasoning we are now appealing to?

Both sides argued their viewpoints in talking point purity, until Amy Goodman asked a simple question at the finish about what mistakes the candidates had made along the way. The Obama rep, seemed to give an honest inward looking probe of a possible misstep and ended it on that. The Clinton rep., who has a book out on how women take over the reign’s of power or something like that. (I’m trying to leave the exactness (quotes and such) out of my point as to not smudge my subjective impression of a skewed answer.) This Clinton rep. took advantage of her place in the situation, opportunistically.

OH! THE LAST CARD-SAY. HUM!

The Clinton woman, and author, went on to say the public was not seeing Clinton’s human side (the public or medias fault?), more or less, then went on, being the last speaker, to finish on Clinton’s strong points and “betterness”.

Well I thought; “This response did not truly answer the question about the candidates mistake, but instead, went on to finish on all her presumed strengths. This is an opportunistic political taking advantage of the situation of being a last presenter and the opponent getting no fair time to rebut what was intended as an introspective point on humility and campaign experience learned.”

ARMS WRESTLING

Politics? Yes. But the other guy did no such thing as I recall. It was a rare chance for unscripted introspection, and was initiated as such. Not the same old thing. This troubles me some about the Clinton and McCain campaigns morphing into we rule by the same old thing. It is how business is done, experience with the same old thing. Fear based “toughness” more important than pursuing whole understanding?

Well from my own biased point of view; if this is how woman are to gain authority and responsibilities in governing more, that example was not one I would endorse. Out doing what has been the game of men at their own tricks, seems not the kind of power I want more of!

The hard to believe part, the mind numbing thing is the near constant kind of “plagiarism” that occurs when we repeat talking points as if they were our own meditated enlightenment’s of mind and heart.

The right wing of things have turned this into quite an art and way of life even. ‘Attack them there so they won’t attack us here’, was repeated so often, its out of world and human reaction context was sent down the drain. It was just lately the accusation that those who are against pre emptive actions of war are for the old Nazis winning over the Allies. When, which of those two were actually using the pre emptive concept on their population?

The left wing is full of concepts more like Swiss cheese than anything solid, true. But I am not going into how they pass their own symbolic concept test around to check for purity. This is about we off the Internet common bloggers.

IN MY YOUR OWN WORDS

Today I have read tag post from the left and right, or more accurately in favor of two parties candidates, that are nothing more than regurgitated talking points. One mentioned the badness of the “socialist” agenda by one candidate. I imagine it was not in reference to the current socialism the wealthy enjoy thanks to all our hard efforts, and yes, taxes we will pay one day to cover all their business expenses allegedly for our own good. It must have meant the socialist buzz word chants usually truncated view constantly bombarded at us from one direction.

Then there was one whose few points and short post was about one candidates readiness to start on day one, with experience, maturity or whatever, some word for word talking points being used to sway “followers” away from a certain inspiring candidate. Yeah, all sound bites are meant to tag our brains, but need they push out our own thoughts? If one cannot think for oneself, just say; “I am voting for blank, here is the link to their site so they can tell you all the propaganda I now have absorbed as the reasons why I am voting for them. Thanks.”

Too harsh? Maybe so.

It seems we do not, as a nation in general, know what are good personality traits or kinds of experience to chose one candidate over another. We say experience as if humans do not have experience unless they are on our side. We say leadership, or national security, without a thorough comprehension of what the dimensions of national security are.

It has seemed to be reduced to; will you kill the bad guys for us who are out to wipe us out for good? Get them before they get us? The notion has inherent stupidity encapsulated to time release in it. “No. I am going to let whomever do whatever they wish to us. I am for freedom of all.” This is akin to the answer expected from those against national security types associated, (through much hard work and propagandized expense) to one party.  Just pretend that all this attacking does not create blood feuds to endure through generations, nicely serving varying conservative cults for years and lifetimes to come.  Until obliteration day.

Amazingly, I (we?) have not even known I was taking sides in things that were, as far as reality perception is concerned, problematic. I tended to have no idea that I was party to a conflict over interpretation, that I in effect inherited. If I do not truth check my “reality view” sources. I can be as wrong about things as the spell checker often notes.

Do I know why I side with the interest I do? Did dad harangue the opposite view, saturating me with it when I was too young to know; it was opinion backed by emotionalized association, and not the whole truth?

This is why we are to seek objective review of our environments; to not be led down paths of opinion we observe and assume are true. That is if we seek truth above misrepresentation in order to have an honest life.

What we call special interest have special reasons to limit our base of consideration. This is a natural self preservation strategy that places itself and those who identify with the sculpted consensus reality, beyond the scope of whole truth. Yet in their unaddmitted limitations, they are as sure of certainty as rain.

RAIN ON ME

We have an unprecedented opportunity to see blind bias in action, especially of political and religious ramblings, on the Web. With a certain anonymity, beliefs emerge that were usually taboo, particularly in the workplace, in order that work get done and employees and employers get home in one piece. Here I can put my pedantic or fallacious viewpoints and ignore reaction if I so chose. Safe, but how useful is it to preach to an assumed choir, while I just hear myself think in circles? Yet we face the made up closed mind if we seek contention with our opposites, where even if our facts are true and in a well placed and meaning context; they can be spit back at us as vile.

Most human debate is over, not what we do know, but what we suspect or presume of others, because of what they do or do not seem to let in to their misjudgements of the issues. We presume conflict over the implications of implied willful ignorance, it, seeming as misfeasance.

SAY WHAT?

A kind of nominalism takes hold in the language of “buzz” words or phrases, which proclaim a reality of their own by mere redefined consensus of opinion, from why knows where? Who needs to tie reality with its uncertain (at times unknowable) facts, when words shaping ideas can take on a tidy unchecked round world of their own. “You liberals”, is now a classic (says it all!) around the world in eleven letters.

My experience in a religious cult, demonstrated, at first shockingly so, how words are appropriated and given new, often private to the select group, connotations or whole definitions. (Most religions begin as a cult of someones or things character traits.) These tend to tightly control thought to a conserved overriding assumption. Adjusted at times by hierarchy if allowed, or stealthily by reinterpretation. Even behaviors and manners begin to show mimicry; all smiley faces for example, not that there is something wrong with real smiles.

To become a seeming true follow or believer then, applying these words and their associate concepts often serves to indoctrinate one into an altered world view, and much peer praise and bonding to the greater cause. These are what are blown across the world in their tidy bubbles of sealed off belief. In those bubbles, truth is fixed, words mean one thing, and we know who the other is.

CHANGING WORD MEANINGS ALTERS COMPREHENSION OF REALITY

It comes to be seen, that from that newly identified unenlightened force now presumably lurking in the larger culture, you begin to notice how shallow or even wrong their idea of the word and world is. I can then come to assume others have some lack of perception, or are blocked from knowing, yes, the truth! The Web as well as the highly biased “news” shows present much ad hominem belief as fact to their already biased in that direction audience. Who needs fact checking.

What I do not know can hurt me. Being naive about methods of mind manipulation is of benefit to many interest in the culture. If I am dumping used motor oil into a river as part of a business, I do not go around saying that part of the truth. I would tend to go around saying how important and responsible it is for you to have your oil changed. How important is is to you and your family to keep your car running as best as it can be for your own safety. We are trying to protect your car and family, definitely good guys. We drink water too you know.

Probably, I don’t wish to hear about the water issue. Might even get mad if someone brought it up, or look for some way to indite the issue itself, usually damning the messenger. (Commies trying to stop me from making a living, or liberal do gooders, why don’t they get a job instead of criticize. Move if you don’t like the water.)

We humans tend to be liberal about our own misgivings (giving them much sway room), and then, possibly because another points a finger at us, tighten our distrust of another even more so, becoming reactionary and antagonized about the misgivings of others about us. Those who brought into light something seeming to reflect ill on me, do seem to be attacking my self esteem. Some call this mirroring back; projection. A kind of self delusional exorcism, putting that devil into someone else, at least in our own minds certainty. Cognitive dissonance relieved.

{Now, this whole post is related to a buzz worded diatribes bubble I just read in my tags. (I have just created bubble as a potential buzz word. Oh, I think it already is one.) What I will call snickering about the “liberal media” (one companies) laid off workers could get a job on Hugo Chavez team. An understandable insult from one who understands blowing bubbles more than what moves in actual reality.}

WHAT IS FAIR ABOUT WHAT IS NOT WITH THE LEFT AND RIGHT?

The “left” of the political spectrum has been known by its mutual mistrust of other allegedly left groups not as interested in their issue as they would hope. Uniting organizations to coalesce into a united movement has been stymied by the lefts own, dominant in mind, individualistic pet issue dominance (my opinion). That is probably good and bad in some ways. The left tends to be made up of individuals who have a direct connection to the issue they raise, hence often volunteering their time and money to their cause. A thousand points of light may be at times more effective than a big out of control bonfire.

It seems to me that the right, though equally filled with mistrust, became united against their proclaimed common liberal enemy, that did seem to be everywhere; Government was trying to stop you from poisoning the common waters. Government was trying to help the sick and unfortunate by birth, bad decision or design. All this “interference” had to be labeled a poison itself, “The Welfare State.” Generalized welfare is to be bad. Makes for a weak nation. Now we can feel great about attacking that demon “Big Government”, that is out to ruin our nation.

A kind of contempt for actions on the part of the whole (except fear based ones) seems to have been transformed into a good, as if problems of large scale economic or other environmental and systemic origins are to be ignored. UNLESS THEY PARTICULARLY IMPACT A CONSERVATIVE OR CORPORATE INTEREST. Then they are called vital to our survival.

You want to survive don’t you? Money and propaganda pours in to affirm the poisonous nature of “tax and spend”. That apparently gleeful liberal mindset meant to bleed you dry. Oh, they have us in a good enough bind mentally and emotionally to divert our attention! And always around fear first, glowing abstractions to come, once liberalism is put down for good.

It seems some on the right are wiling to burn any liberal legacy of our nations previous hero’s sacrifice, as Bush said; “the Constitution is just a GD piece of paper” to solidify the security of the looming corporate welfare state. (Histories usual narrative of the wealthy and status entitled keeping their privilege at anyone and anything else’s expense.)

Government was to be framed as the source of the oppression you feel, (to unseat notions of public benefit) especially the delusion that common tax was the only thing that took your own will to survive out of your pocket. (Money as your status, real value and self respect.) The will of the people (that is democracy) to address issues relating to the common good of all, was to be poisoned from both the right, and eventually the seduced pulpit itself.

Words had to have their meanings changed, charged, tainted and effectively disabled from true consideration. No more commons for you, it was never there actually. You are to be abandoned to Gods will. If you have problems you are a sinner or looser. God, presumed to not want others to share your burden, nor help lift you up, not even care for you if sick. Your church, savings, insurance if you can afford it, or family is presumably your safety net, if you have one that is.

Fear, however, effects each life at times. It is a powerful director of attention. And in the hands of the right wing of things, government was to be feared as a thief, and from some churches, as an agent acting against the will of God.

Now the doors are opened to exploitation and predation in the name of opportunity. President Eisenhower had seen how far this fear and paranoia industry had gone by the 50’s, and seemed to believe it endangered our very nations founding legacy. Little did we know that the information media, would itself align with its own big business interest first, public welfare, concern for the whole, last.

That whole economic trickle down theory puts one in proper perspective. The wealthy, if feeling generous, will hire you since they see they can make some money off of you at the moment, and let a little bit trickle into your cup. We are to praise and thank them. Just listen to all their commercials! They are only interested in bettering your life. But you never know the real long term cost to the whole for their operations.

ALL CREATION IS PARTITIONED AND FOR SALE

The right wing became the spreader of new meaning. Still it is seen everywhere. Unknowingly, bias can come along with the very acceptance of the framed notion. Individuals of great wealth set up the attack on what is called the Commons, as well as an educational infrastructure created to demonize all government as it applies to compassion, empathy and understanding, except in areas where those human “goods” could be used specifically to wedge people away from their broad definition.

Oddly, this attack on the media whose job should be liberal, wide open and not some one party’s line; which must then point out unresolved issues, societal incongruities and conflicts relating to privilege, pollution, global warming, suffering in the world and amidst our own poor etc… These were tagged as liberal bias. An evil thing that focuses on what is wrong.

By not focusing on what was not working for the whole system, those wrongs could be and were ignored, even blamed for their own existence. Remember hurricane Katrina victims? Troubled Iraq war veterans? All their own fault. Not our responsibility. Give me more tax cuts.

A legion of true believers in liberal bias of the media was sent out to seed the public with suspicion of anything that could be termed liberal. (I must note that liberals can be as one sided as anyone else at times.) In the current campaign it is still a poison pill of a sorts even for democrats. The implicit liberalism of Jesus Christ, and the Bill of Rights has been scaled back. In some Christian religious sectors, Christ love is for the “reborn”, to only apply to they who follow the right wing buzz word and wedge issue machine, all circularly codified as representing the good, and what is bad be damned.

HOW MONEY FORCES ISSUES ONE WAY OR ANOTHER

Years ago I had heard (a book documented the phenomenon) that some 80,000 had graduated from “conservative” schools explicitly to seek work in the media. It was no accident that in the lead up to the Iraq war; conservative “talking heads” outnumbered liberal ones more than 3 to 1. Were we really a nation designed to be fed bias as truth in matters of life and death? Is that what our nation stands for?

Is full and forthright truth, less important than cherry picked facts and loaded opinion masquerading as reality? If so, no one ever told me that is why we sacrifice the lives of our hero’s in war, to protect deception of elites above the whole truth. That would seem akin to treason. Yet some who worked in newsrooms claimed that the directive was to have at least two pro war talkers when any contrary one was there.

Is patriotism served by a mathematically loaded deception? Maybe in old warlord systems like Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia. But the land of the free and home of the brave, also proudly the cowering conformist cult of the deceivers?

For many these days, just the mention of liberal, is now equated with taking from you and giving to the undeserving. It is a victory for powerful interest that can be said to take from you and give to themselves. That with the aid of their well funded “think tanks”, they have been able to frame the population at large into a biased corner. This seems to be their right, given they can afford to, and did so far, get away with it. This post will not be appearing much of anywhere, for instance. Nor many more well reasoned and documented ones I might add.

Now we come to that place where between media consolidation and corporate privilege over that of the individual American, we enter a time where the freedom to be able to think for oneself is itself at great jeopardy. If this trend persist, we will end up with the complete surrender of what was the United States of America.

The freedoms, rights and responsibilities will be instead, at the whim of the One World Corporation, a conglomerate of united companies who finally put an end to war, and instead, partition the worlds bounty amidst themselves and their sycophants. If those conservative interest do not unite to stop losses on destruction and competition, they will continue to attempt to destroy each other, leaving the world as collateral damage.

FASHION TRENDS IN WORLD DOMINATION

We are entirely capable of having the whole experiment in freedom and responsible democracy, atrophy until it resembles the era of the Pharaohs. There seems to be not much in the way of a completely fear based state for the worlds people, all dependent upon a new breed of masters.

Well, I do know of one thing that can stop the trend. No. Not UFOs. It is a secret weapon called Unconditional Love. The actual Power that manifest the universe. An Infuence which we are free to ignore, to our everlasting detriment. Odd, that we each have a Divine Power in our midst, which we too evidently seem to miss. One could even go so far to say, that heaven is at hand if we are willing to see it right there, in our hands.
