IS REALTY UP TO YOUR IMAGINATION, OR IS THERE A REAL ONE?

What a world it would be if we could live by the whole truth; peace and harmony, if anyone is interested!

Instead of wondering what we mean is, is (a-la B. Clinton), let us consider what truth is. The truth is by definition; real and not in contradiction with itself, objective reality does not exist in negation. The truth can seem to us at times to be incoherent, as in paradox, or blind, as in by ignorance, but that “opposition” might relate more to our abilities and desire to understand life and the universe than its actual fact in reality.

The universe is consistent in its laws of being, or it would not be able to be, that is consistency. That consistency is then inherent to humankind, prodding us to agree on the nature of reality. The “easy” opportunistic existential relativism that gives equal merit to truth and fiction can lead us to believe in anything, as rationalization stands in for full and honest logic. Now that is problematic for our perception!

WHY DO WE LOOK, QUESTION, AND SEEK ANSWERS?

We explore our differences in perception to advance the cause of greater truth (why we need a free and independent press). We are actually preprogrammed to seek out the truth. It is the contention here, that we can enlighten ourselves by activating our critical thinking abilities rather than denying them for what appears to be current or comfortable self advancement. Orthodoxy’s, as status quo question free zones adhered to like security blankets, can institute and worship ignorance in the place of truth or God.

When the self (or the nation) “advances” at the cost of the whole truth, one is in fact self-deceiving and self-defeating, since we cannot bypass the truth (universal reality) without dire internal/external emotional and relationship consequences. Lies, denial and other deceptions set up the fields of disharmony, (can you remember any first lie you once told and how it felt?) aided by what has been called cognitive dissonance and or temptation; the dysfunctional, contrary world of opportunism. It seems the universe is set up to honor those with an honest and open heart and mind, no matter the material or identity boosting results humans may impose onto other values that serve to confuse appearances.

I DID IT MY WAY

Much of the division and conflict at home and in the world is because of self serving attempts to have things “my way” (no matter how well intentioned!) when in fact that way is the wrong way if it fails to stand up to the inherent objective standard of whole truth.

Though none of us are perfect with objective clarity, life hands each one the quest to be more whole and fulfilled. This occurs in a lasting and unshakable way by drawing closer to truthful reality, perhaps necessitating the presence of ambiguity and nuance if clear and simple conclusions regarding experience and its perception are not always possible.

This adjustment to real knowing may require facing humility and forgiveness as self correcting mechanisms for false assumption. Much alleged fact and opinion does not meet a full and unbridled standard of illumination, but instead actively opposes in depth analysis, provoking the darkness of subjectivist separation via sustained ignorance and its progeny; conflict. Light is essential for our survival.

IF PEACE AND HARMONY ARE NATURAL, THEN WHY IS THERE CONFLICT?

Ever heard of monkey see monkey do? How about the imprinting a baby chick can have that has it “think” you are its mother? Many an astonished adult finds that in raising their children they observe themselves behaving just as one of their parents did. They think back to childhood and remember how they perhaps despised that saying or behavior yet out it waddles as if following mama down the path. Because dysfunction is bonded to a continuity of reason, an embedded perception of cause and effect, it too is self perpetuating until it is solved by awareness of error by the self. Many abstractions serve as hiding places for these errors, where we can pretend we know a truth.

Freedom is a classic abstraction (as God can be). I want to be free is generalized to the extreme; free from what, whom, and or to do what? We do not accept that I am free to yell “Fire!” in a crowded theater as a lark. I am not free to dump my used motor oil in the middle of an intersection. I can claim that freedom, but most no one else will agree with it as some kind of right; because it negatively effects the whole! We could say the same about anyone consciously flying planes into any building, in the name of God. Yet as we have seen, some claim rights to a freedom that a consciousness of the whole would never consider. We have traditions, wrapped in abstractions, that we never question as they effect the context of the whole planet, simply because we assume they are true, just or entitled just because we have them.

Overall it makes good sense to “follow” ones parents or guardians (yes our culture) but there can be times when that automatic pilots instruments can be wrong without us noticing it, if we do not challenge our initial sense of contradiction to find what the real truth is. If I am in “opposition” to the whole of life, that separation will produce pain and perpetuate it if unresolved. We can believe we are doing something right and actually be doing something wrong! We need to review these automatic pilot assumptions we all have that may very well be sending us somewhere we never intended to go.

A SPLIT PERSONALITY AS NORMAL

Dysfunction will try to have it both ways; have the loyalty and allegiance endemic to all life, yet not allow inward looking to see if life is actually and truly being served to the best of our abilities, by claiming loyalty and allegiance prevents honest introspection. A catch 22 contrapuntal loop of imposed darkness blocks truthful openness, by sticking perception squarely into the ground of guilt. Who said a circle could not fit a square?

FEAR SQUARED

Politics can take this opposition to extreme by mixing fact and abstract theory in presentations that claim they are one and the same with what actually is. I can hear these and then go on to believe someone’s ideas of progress, or victory, or winning are factual because I believe in the abstraction, but reality is the rub!

In stimulating tribal and turf identities, the differences between people, whether real or fabricated, can be made to seem life threatening and emotionally clear. Hitler, for example, used this ignorance of others to turn them (in perception) into monsters that must be destroyed for the common good. We have hired “talking heads” these days that spend most of their time demonizing whole categories of our citizens to suit some preconceived political ends; divide and conquer.

I cannot force my abstractions onto reality by manipulating the facts. For instance, we can say we support our troops and want them to win, seems straight forward, but lacks the facts of specifics; why do we believe force is the sole solution to a particular problem? What exactly do we construe as victory, getting our way? Humiliating our foe? What are the real issues in the conflict? Are our troops fighting for the truth and will they then be willing to forgo past assumptions for current realities, thus change and or adapt to what success for their real mission now is? How about us?

WHEN SERVICE IS HIJACKED BY MANIPULATION

I suggest that if our troops are committed to fighting for truth and honor of it above all else, they cannot be abandoned by politicians nor polls no matter how much “support” they receive, for their support issues from a higher cause. It is up to both the public and the politicians to insure the use of force is only backed up by the truth, for in not so doing, it is we who are abandoning our responsibility to be honest and forthright.

Merely saying something is so does not make it so, yet some of us make this mistake into policy supported by the questionable propositions of ideology. The question should become; why am I afraid of the actual truth? So fearful that I sacrifice my abilities to know the truth in a full way, for a fear based assumption that I already know truth and so cannot question that “knowing”? Another roadblock to true knowing is not allowing evidence to the contrary. Is that knowing that denies admittance actually that weak and susceptible to erasure? As if it is not included in Creation! Such avoidance is an indicator of damage to perception.

PROUD TO BE WRONG?

The freedom to be wrong creates a clash with reality, truth then, if sought out, can set this problem free, free for oneself to pursue a higher knowing. Our imagination can coexist as a partner with creation or in contradiction with it. Imagination breaks the bounds of apparently choice-less determinism, but in so doing creates an awesome responsibility, one we can appear to be completely unaware of. Yet the laws of being remain unbreakable. Persisting in contradiction will push us out of life one way or another, no mater the scientific, religious or cultural concepts we hold dear. Creation is not held hostage to human ideas.

It is up to the individuals subjective awareness to reach out to a higher order of knowing, or not. I must give myself permission to expand my awareness to greater objectivity by owning a passion for a more complete truth. The challenge I face then as one person, is if I will leave my comfort zone of adjustments in order to establish a foothold on a closer connection to life as it really is, a higher order for my own functioning in the real world of being. The sense of identity alters and expands as I leave behind subjective insecure attachments to a mistaken identity, establishing a sense of greater realization by holding on to the ways of increased objectivity.

WHERE DO I GET THE AUTHORITY TO SAY SUCH THINGS?

I have not just pulled these notions out of the blue, you already know of them. “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” “What goes around, comes around.” “Karma.” “What you reap you sow.” These all describe the understanding that one does not get away with deception and manipulation. It also means that one does change and grow with living in truth if one is so doing, the truth becomes ones life.

Truths requirements show up everywhere, naturally. When we declare we are attacking them over there so they wont attack us over here, (this applies even in our relationships!) we are violating these tenets for a delusional sense of avoidance. We cannot avoid the truth. Those prior sayings do imply how we are fooled into not knowing the truth, and come to believe we can get away with something, all we need are what seem to be good fact assembled reasons.

We are born with a certain free will that allows us the right to be wrong, however, there is no right to avoid the real truth nor to avoid the consequences of so doing. Remember “The path to Hell is paved with good intentions.”? History shows us how racial, ethnic, sexual, religious and political, and other class identity differences are given subjective narratives to justify unequal treatment and unequal presumption. If we try to separate others from the rules of reality we end up separating ourselves, then wondering how we so mysteriously went wrong. There is no getting around the whole oneness of life, except seemingly by living in deception. Over there is also here. Recall that Shakespearean quotation, “I know not ‘seems’.”?

Internally, and in the outside world of others, the truth faced up to in the light can be painful to behold, making it seem a challenge to embrace the light over the darkness. Light can be blinding, if not humbling, to find in the presence of truth that ones past assumptions have proven to be in error, and admit that that error has brought pain, discomfort and confusion into the world. Self-reflection may bring this pain into the forefront to be processed, yet the release of true growth in individual perception only comes after this transcendence of deception and illusion. The Truth with a capital T does set us free. Self correction is not defeat, it is the opposite of it!

THE CHALLENGE TO BE

It seems we are born into this continual test; to determine whether our imagination is both accurate and conductive to the Truth, and if not, whether we have the courage to let go of our false assumptions instead of projecting them into space-time, causing certain disruption, which we then attach to the assumed ill will of others or to life itself as uncaring. That is a short-circuited defeatist position, because the mechanisms for self correction are present with us if we but turn the door handle to come into their room.

When I am weak (in perception/identity), I can fall into the reactions of provocation as easily as anyone. Provocation encouragement is an addiction of separation, as if to prove how separate we are from one another, as if life were some argument to “win”. Provocation reaction is internalized anger at apparent separation or abandonment, resisting evil with evil we could say, and it tends to produce more of the same.

But compassion for ones enemies as described by Matthew in the New Testament? The very notion of loving ones enemies to transcend the cycle of hate is our only hope, for it holds out the promise of reintegration. If we are to be serious about peace, truth and love, we must stop the perpetuation of the illness that sustains their opposites. We have to become the heroes in our own lives because we are up to the challenge.

WHEN DOES LOVE CONQUER ALL?

A most humbling yet rewarding experience occurs when I gain control over my right to be wrong, no longer allowing insecurity and imagination to run wild in my own perception. With that self discipline I can see that I am actually on the side of Love–that which connects everything everywhere. Not that love does not include suffering, but suffering lets that love be known as even more precious and worthy of my care. Life has been generous in this respect. It can be a pleasant shock to comprehend all of the answers needed are here. There is no lost key to find to finally make sense of it all.

Universal consistency means we each are essential to it, since it is the bedrock of our own being. It may be about what some call God, Love, Life or Spirit, but whatever we call It, It cannot be deceived no matter what I believe.

JUST A TRUTHFUL WORLD

AND NOTHING BUT THE?

For this reason it is sensible to reject the lazy, convenient and opportunistic driven existential relativism that gives equal merit to truth and fiction. There is an inherent and inherited drive to Truth.  Yes with a capital T.

BUT WHOSE IS RIGHT?

Politics and religion make great distinctions over what is often actually varying limitations at interpreting reality and agreeing on its parameters available to human comprehension. Truth is in effect, argued as relative to a mistaken subjectivity, and an abstract untouchable perfection, for many belief systems, the two can never truly meet.

WHEN DECEPTION (TEMPTATION?) WHISPERS; “It’s yours! Take it before someone else does!”

BUT ME FIRST ALWAYS

LOVE FOR THE TRUE WHOLE

Tired yet of all the alleged fact and opinion that do not meet this full and unbridled standard of illumination, but instead provoke the darkness of subjectivist separation via ignorance and its progeny; conflict? Then we need a field of honesty about the human condition; about the appeal of subjective gain, and the resulting imbalance that can then emit into the world and create dissonance that will self perpetuate as conflict (some internalized state of falseness to Being), unless it is understood for what it is.

We each must acknowledge that internally and in the outside world of others, the Truth faced up to in the light can be painful to behold, making it seem a challenge to embrace the light over the darkness. Light can be blinding, if not humbling, to find in the presence of Truth that ones past assumptions have proven to be in error, and admit that that error has brought pain, discomfort and confusion into the world.

THE PAIN THAT PRODUCES GAIN

Our work at exposing what is hidden may bring this pain into the forefront to be processed. Yet true growth of individual perception only comes after this transcendence of deception and illusion. This effort is then dedicated to the proposition to be true, whatever it takes.

This is to Whole Love. May it hold us all in Its arms.

THE ERA OF THE CANDIDATE SURROGATES

THE TWILIGHT CLONE

We now enter sideways through scratches on tainted windows, past slashes of sunlight that leave the scene inside be-speckled to its murky corners. Alas, one thing comes creeping through the air full of dust lit debris; it is the era of the candidate surrogates.

We will not actually know why they say so and so is so; and so the other one is better. The reference will be all about name recognition of someone supposedly stable, and well reasoned of character. Being that they know so much more about it all than us. Words are to believed as being sensible and particularly sane.

If we stand back, we might make out the scuffling of back-lit teams. Some speak of special experience relative to their favorite, while the other side says the reasoning is specious, drilled through and through. Filled with nothing more than the substance of tubes full of worm castings.

Most learned professionals in their fields, albeit often hired punditry and of good patronage, will demonstrate in most sober and reasoned language, how completely fallible the other one is. Indeed. It will conclude there is hardly a true comparison to be made. But how mistaken so many of us seem to be, for being just too naive or taken in by excitement, or novelty.

Sophistry at its most sophisticated will attempt to sway your interest with well placed insecurity issues clothed in murky facts and conclusive innuendo. Even some liberals will be provoked to side with a more conservative host, since, at least conservatism seems to be a more certain known.

Fear works its magic though vibrating strings of mistrust, its music residing unfaithfully between two ears. Words seek us out from multiple directions, or is that dimensions?

So which so is so?

I don’t rightly know.

I am a mere victim of both my past and the medias unknown and at time unknowable accomplices, party to a competition for the image of someone other than I, but alleged to be on my side, or not.

My only advice to myself; chose who seems most honest. To do that, I will look back at what they said and did. I will compare them in the interest, not just of my place in life, but the whole nation and world.

It will take some scrutiny, this outsider check for honesty, and I will most likely not let you know who I decide is more truth telling and trustworthy in my said requirements. For you have your own chance to compare.

But I am afraid my emotions regarding contradiction, and bias masquerading as secret agents of covert fact, will prompt me to declare:

That is dishonest and I know!, because I know the experience from my own, well, taste of my own dishonesty.

Beware, out there in the jungle of misinformation, the surrogates are on the lose, and we are their oh so willing prey.

WHERE IS MY MIND?…………OH IT FELL OUT WHILE IT WAS OPEN

No really?

This is about abstraction, then contradiction as evidence of untruth=a truth.

If I have said it once I have said it at least once; CONTEXT.

We have de facto a priori truths that are in effect theory’s based on experience. I do not think of them as my opinion however. My foot going forward is an assumed certainty, in that it will meet matter and continue my walking. I am trusting looks are not deceiving and not even knowing it.

I don’t know I trust some joke is not being pulled, my next foot falling through some illusion, like a trap in the jungle. My mind is quite closed as to my belief seeming as fact but having the potential of illusion. I trust I have not been drugged and am imagining where my next step is actually going. We can keep going on in this way regarding the first example that popped into my mind. It did that probably because it is such a universal belief we most all have, but would get only into an existential circulating pool if we argued about it as a belief I have but you do not, since you know where your next step is going.

Why am I talking about this today? What determined my interest on this topic? It was a post about liberal legendary open-mindedness and conservative strong willed closed opinion. Sometimes I am bugged about the false dichotomies that are used regarding generalized abstractions that then go on to prove a point philosophically, believing a questionable belief is proven truth.

In the case mentioned, if a liberal holds an opinion they are proven as deceptive to some; cause they are not being open minded. Then conservative opinion does not face this same criterion. Are these alleged opposites merely on a polar continuum? Might they actually be on a circle rather than a line? How about a triangle with closed mindedness being one point, and liberal, all the rest of the whole?

It is my assumption that we all have both conservative and liberal tendencies. They are conserved for some functional reason. One can argue endlessly over false dichotomies (the talking heads on cable news often do) because they are insolvable, being that one or both sides are not honestly in any full context.

Should I be open minded about where my next foot is landing on the sidewalk? Most likely not, unless there are some unknowns I am blindly waking into. But unfortunately I do not know of them and experience has suggested I need not have a concern. If someone points out that I am not being open minded about my opinion, am I then a proven conservative or dishonest liberal?

Like the sidewalk analogy, experientially we are guided into many beliefs, by experience and our particular place in family and culture, that are nowhere near as certain as cement. But we are sure they are!

The cliches over left and right are often such a morass of misunderstanding that arguing over them is often tantamount to poking your own brain out of your head and using it as a soccer ball. Really pointless, because neither side is willing to hear with the ears of the other. On those occasions they may try, can that try be honest? Is our upbringing going to raise its hand and shout to our mouths; I know the true answer!? But I’ll give you a listen for respect and courtesy in giving understanding a try, and not knowingly, subconsciously, cherry pick what bounces through my ears.

I read another tag yesterday that was going around in anti-government circles all in a fuss over some couples cheating on our taxes. This couple allegedly did not wish to work, were found to be illegal aliens, and on, in that welfare state big bad government huff so opinion pulling on the right.

While I was reading this post the TV news was on, an investigative show, talking about 200 billion in no bid contracts that seem to have gone out to what amounts to war profiteers who got the job by personal and political contacts, thus having that lack of oversight and accountability now infamous as cronyism in the supposedly conservative administration.

Point being; who is really getting away with what and what is the true context and scale? Why does one inflame ones emotions and yet the other keep off the radar? Doth we sense the scent of cognitive dissonance?

Liberals are not exempt from cognitive dissonance, or being false to ones convictions but not owning up in awareness to that reality. This is a departure example, but I knew of someone who was always excited over a relative of theirs getting off of drug addiction. That is something to be excited about, but this was perhaps the fifth time I had heard this same response to that persons getting “clean”.

Well my experience about these things tells me this; I quit smoking over thirty years ago, and drinking alcohol over twenty, when I met one criterion in myself. That threshold was an absolute surety of a new power of control in me, one that can overpower addiction. It is what I call spiritual transformation, in that your spirit arrives at a higher place (life’s Love) that can overcome the chronic addictive failure one has known. Some higher step, places you in an overview that will not bargain with physical pleas from the addiction to give in and enjoy yourself; you deserve it after all. You poor suffering one you. No. You become joyful in ending something “externals” control over you. Freedom rings!

So whenever I hear of those leaving addictions, I probe if some new understanding has occurred in their lives, do you notice other new and healthy qualities emerging? If not, I become doubtful, hopeful but cautious. I have found all to likely the addicted one is telling you what you would like to hear from them. This is especially important to note on the addictions that are so immediately a threat to self and others.

Some of us are more concerned of cultural oil addiction than others. Some of us are rewarded in stock dividends by our oil addiction. The environment may be passing a deadly threshold, where our very reason to acknowledge such a pivot point may be compromised by the addictions apparent benefits to identity and immediate security. The security we often spend most attention on.

Instead of arguing opinions, standing our ground as if it guaranteed holiness, or being indifferent about conflicting interest, not knowing our own interest is dependent on those very conflicts, maybe we should learn to listen differently.

Maybe we should understand that no ones interest is separate from any others. See that their hearts are just as real as our own. Maybe we should find the deeper dimensions to honesty, looking into myself and wonder; why do I believe that so emphatically, or why have I payed no attention to the others viewpoint?

We have a mind to gain and only misunderstanding to lose.

It is one addiction where we do if we so declare, get to chose.

To live more near to honestly than deception.

THE PRESIDENTIAL PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO TRUTH

WHY IS THIS QUESTION NOT ASKED OF CANDIDATES FOR HIGH OFFICE?

I know they raise their hands over the Bible or something, in front of a robed character, swearing to uphold the Constitution, when it is in effect too late and they are being sworn in. That appears to be not good enough according to our history.

We should be well aware that the presidents, perhaps as commander-in-chief(?), seem to give an order to themselves that anything goes when it comes to guiding the public to believe in things that are factually not true. The truth, it has been proven, they need not even pursue. Part of being a hard decision making god like leader I imagine?

Well this situation has proved fatal to so many, and itself seditious to our country, our reputation, and our present and future. Treason has even become a political tool of manipulation (with immunity with one parties control and a failed fourth estate), something no free country can endure and keep its decency, let alone universal rights or freedoms. Something must be done.

WE THE PEOPLE MUST HAVE OUR ANSWER

We need a Presidential Pledge of Allegiance to Truth, one made to the public during the campaign. The pledge needs the teeth of sworn acknowledgement and eventual enforcement; that when any harm ensues by the president knowingly, in the face of contrary evidence or doubt, declares something that produces documented harm to be true, when in fact that “truth” is not unquestionably certifiable; that she or he be held to account.

(National security issues under question will be handled by defense and or intelligence committees, sworn to secrecy, their evidence and access on the topic not to be interfered with. Those findings will be presented to the team of judges also so sworn to secrecy, with most severe consequences to be applied to any breaching of the nations private information.)

The Presidential Pledge of Allegiance to Truth Committee, made up of a balanced representation of the US, will demand that congress appoint an independent team of experts on the alleged untruth to determine the validity of the claim held against the chief executive, or they shall themselves so appoint it. If it is found that the president was willfully largess in stating something as true, indicating the truth was not held as the measure of policy, they will be impeached on such offense or resign their post, and a new election be immediately declared to occur in a month(?).  While the line of succession to the presidency steps up in the interim.

This is a simple Pledge of Honesty, not the kind we currently hear about taxes or whatever. We cannot be electing the head of the most powerful, and thus potentially destructive or constructive nation on earth, and allow that person to deceive us openly and at will. Congress does not uphold its authority, it has forfeit it. We are left to our own devices to see who will promise not to deceive us for any reason, and be held accountable for so doing. How can we not, and survive? Are we to represent to ourselves, our military service, and the world as the country that defends deception?

MAKE IT CLEAR, CLEAN AND STRAIGHT

In essence, it is a simple statement; will you not lie, obfuscate, cheery pick facts, irresponsibly plant or accept false stories and information, seek out only your own viewpoint, or in any other way deceive us, the nation whose constitution you swore to uphold? Yes or no, no caveats.

Will you swear to be immediately held accountable for such misinformation being used to manipulate our nation? And will you promise, not to be excused and never do it again, but to step out of the way of the truth, that we have an honest and forthright government. And not one, of characters and ideologies that seek to remake it into their own false image, by employing falsehoods as the fabric of our American creed, hidden behind the Cause of our nations flag. Democracy defeated.

This pledge sworn to the public will be construed as the candidates prime directive, to be implied as supreme law upon swearing in. It will thus be considered a retroactive mandate by the candidate to the Committee on Presidential Honesty, its court and team of judges. Our hearing the Pledge of Allegiance to Truth to the United States, by the candidate, will be construed as fact applying to their office.

This is a matter of saving out nation (and world) from totalitarian ruin. We have witnessed the lack of any authority to uphold the truth in and for high public office. The spirit of this pledge should also apply to any party in office manipulating the nation to benefit its own interest above the interest of a free and fully informed democracy.

Something to that effect has been said. I have to challenge a predominating point of view to even think of that as being true. Truth can be institutionally hidden from view. In my life; challenging what I was raised to believe was off the boards, until one of them hit me in the face metaphorically speaking.

Well then. Suddenly truth seems different than what was believed. You thought what you believed was true. Now you are on your own. It was so easy to just be conservative, to just trust what you were told, perhaps what parent and preacher had professed as beyond question. Much less daunting than the apparent free for all of existentialism.

The competitive press seems addicted to never getting to the true heart of matters, the resulting insecurity focus is addictions best friend. I would like you to know that you were born with the truth and into it. Now it is up to each of us to find our ways back. In that sense truth is relative and cannot be known in the sense of imposing it on others. I can say that water boils at a certain temperature, period. But am I clear of connecting factors; is something in solution in the water and by the way what barometric pressure did you imply in your temperature number? And then what unknown unknowns are not known? Who knows? Claims to truth need to be both tempered, and left with an open view into the blackness.

Well, your atoms and molecules at least are on a mission. Life is asking you to stand up in your own integrity and figure the truth given right to you by it. Or do you believe the universe is actively trying to keep you in the dark? Rose, or myopic, or arrogantly elitist glasses might need be broken under your own foot to stand up to what life ask of you. This takes courage and strength, and something as a higher purpose. I will admit, I am not always up to this task myself. There is no fault in humility that still seeks to find self honesty. Without a sacred center (your vision of highest value, possibly beyond words to express), I can be irrationally lost in a cosmos of connection.

WE are both victim and hero in this regard; our hearts have been hurt likely along the way, we are protective and defensive of these wounds, with what seems like a pragmatic sense of separation from the full connections to others. Yet since whole truth is all inclusive, (such as including science and religion as part of one great thing,) we must somehow, and seek out those ways how to, bridge one heart to another.

Now let me posit an observation for you to put up my last statement; how much of the news is presented as a means to unconditional understanding? Is not much of it terror based; fires, accidents, criminals, terrorist, fear of terrorist, unsolvable need or threat? So much of what life offers to us all, while we stare at fears narrowly focused hourglass, is passing under the bridge in torrents of meaning. The sun, the grass and trees, a cloud, a fish and even the night stars; they too are you. How distant are they?

TODAYS EDGE

Today I look forward to doing more concrete. Last night I wrote to the paper about my hospital experience (not sent yet). I felt odd about that because it’s kinda like telling your mother, she did not put enough seasoning on something, telling someone whose hands your life may now or later be in again, that they did something seemingly wrong.

That is one emotional drawback about being honest and responsible at the same time; honest about your own role in an outcome and honest about how honesty remains the best policy. If we are not even allowed to learn from our mistakes, how do we grow?

I cannot stand it when I am accused of something I knew I did not do as described. It can be a point of view issue, but in my life sometimes I was not the one accused of error or mistake. I (or we) can tend to be silent on those too, as we stew in out quietude about being someones fall guy.

As a nation we make some seemingly inexcusable mistakes; an expensive mission to Mars allegedly with two differing math viewpoints not taken into account; we now start wars and claim we have to because of one reason, then another, then another, the we must make good on our mistake, as if once again we will be guaranteed success, but when are we just plane honest about what we are doing? A democracy or honestly free people will not survive the future if this avoidance is acceptable.

Never admit a mistake, or deception, so you do not need to face up to being accountable or learn. Now that is some policy! One that continues pain and loss on all sides, yet which some mistaken abstraction or future promised guarantee we believe we are entitled to, is deserving beyond honest truth filled accountability. We are doomed with that deadly escapism as a new value, as an ever handy political or personal formula that keeps the buck from ever stopping here, unless it is (it seems) to line your loyal subjects pockets that is.

An honest life would not require an abusive tone to address what seems to be a mistake. I am not perfect, as anyone who knows me would surely agree with me on; no argument there. Well I need grant others that same permission to be a fallible human. But to grow we need to know. I can protect damage to an others feelings yet still convey to them lacking information. That is what both friends, workers, and world leaders could do. But how often do I step up to this higher nature of truthful living?

It can be easy to just be “loyal” and hide the truth from friends of your special information. It may make it easy to just hide a truth, but it ultimately makes life both hard, and built on deception. What I know of the Universe, it will not let falseness stand tall. It is destined to fall, one way or another.
