Obama and McCain get you what?

Though 68 percent of the population is said to now be against the war in Iraq, that about 80% once seemed to support, we must wonder what does go on in the minds of our compatriots. Why? Less than one in five of us knew what was being pulled over the public eye’s from day one.

Whatever that something is, or lack of something, if cable news is the judge, that something is going on again, in the population. Hypothetically, both candidates are said to be statistically even at the start of July. The question is; what statistics actually work and seem relevant for that massive bulk of the population that seems to be shopper citizens. They appear to be buying what is on the media’s shelves. Are they really comparing the positions of the two candidates to decide who to pick? How naive can we be? Can our democracy now withstand this shopping syndrome?

Do you actually not know what party dragged us into this economic and terror mess with all their pomp, jingoist patriotism, crony capitalism, intimidation of dissent and macho posturing? How about who took the solar collectors down? Do you still remember who was attempting to create a one party state from K Street to a rubber stamp judiciary ? How about who suppresses information and opinion contrary to its own? Those things are antithetical to democracy, and the values of freedom and liberty. Is it really a debate? Do we not know which party the country actually fares better with? Or are we just shopper citizens who do not know or question why what is on the shelves is there instead of something else?

Are we really born blank headed every minute, then pointed with our cart down the aisle? “Hum? I’m not decided yet. I’m going to be responsible and compare where both guys stand on the issues.” But what exactly are the real issues? Taxes? Abortion? Experience? Vision? How your particular job or economic interest seems to benefit? If it is this same old aisle full of baloney, no wonder less and less gets done, while the nation loses more and more. Except for that elite few of course. They know how to play the system each and every way to keep ahead. To them, that is what counts, not you. It might be smart, not just to read the ingredients on the can to know what is in there, but what is the can made of and might it not also influence the nutrition?

“Oh my word! That is just asking too much!” Really? How will one know if one does not investigate the whole context, and not just the prepared meal? Unfortunately on this question, it is democracy and freedom that depends on that investigation. Unless they no longer have any real meaning that is, other than another popularity contest designed to bypass this deeper attention.

THE TOO LATE PERSPECTIVE

That huge pondering group of decided this way, and that way the next day, that vast majority who changes their minds well after the facts are in, are in a curious and easily manipulated position which they are apparently oblivious to. They are at the mercy of double talk and Orwellian opposite speak. Are they proud of being, not just fallen off the turnip truck, but reborn every moment into a disconnected world view, where facts and reality are too burdensome to accommodate, so anyone’s propaganda barrage (or else inconvenient truths) suddenly has them rethink their prior unthought out position? ” Wait! Now I believe in global warming.” or “Oh! I’m not voting for him. I heard he’s a Muslim.”

If you are shopping and comparing to decide, God help us. For you certainly are not.

The us against them mindset is fundamentally conservative based. That said; if you are in a conservative elite or under its spell, you can claim that openness or even justice towards other ideas, is a bias against you! This is the contrapuntal check mate regurgitated in the media over and over to make stagnation of societal progress and subjective bias seem “fair”. As a society and culture, we seem confused and rendered impotent over and over, by this existential relativity claimed to be fair and balanced.

YOU MUST BE THE JUDGE

If we cannot tell human interest, the interest of humanity and this planet, from divide and conquer mentalities, we will not be able to know when the self interest of the apparent subjective (a seeming positive) is actually a negative. There are ample characters on the right and media who are served by conflict originating from the right, to “existentialize” any argument by blurring subjective and more objective truths.

Subjective truth can believe it holds the true perspective in context, and so sees facts rightly, when in fact, it does not allow objective questioning and may well not detect its intrinsic ideological bias. Ever wonder why this administration tries to purge its own party, and then America, from its truth serving dissenting voices? Control context and so the debate, thus undermining democracy.

If everyone is told the earth is flat, and only given the “experts” that agree with that premise, a status quo can go on to call the real round truth heresy, and those who speak it, heretics to be ostracised or worse. This is the power of ad-hominem pollution of reason. The corporate stranglehold on a free media has alternative perspective and solutions to problems cast into this same light. That 70% who go along with “authority” in times of stress can be “pick pocketed” like taking the proverbial candy from a baby.

ALWAYS DIVIDE AND DOMINATE

Separation based ideologies need enemies (in concept) to organize their subjective prejudice into a seemingly correct world view. But if you cannot question politics, if you cannot question religion, if you cannot question authority, if you cannot question belief in the midst of known difference and diversity, you run a very high risk of living in a lie. Diverting consciousness form knowing higher truth is the ends of censorship and external control of the free will. Division and demonization are the hallmarks, not of righteousness, but of deception.

Whole political platforms are formed to service cognitive dissonance. Their intent is to keep certain perceptions and community ideals bound to service to subjective goals of domination and control. We are witnessing a time in human development where the commons of being human, and the commons of being alive in this world of all life, is in jeopardy to predatory interest, interested in their own benefit above all else and others. If we do not know this and are otherwise absorbed in the “debates” over “issues”, we may well sacrifice the forest, to believe we are saving the trees.

One dichotomy may well be true; you are for this whole world and willing to care for and steward it, or you are against it. The victory of those against the commons, will be the defeat of us all. Some things are black and white.

THAT BITTER WHITE THING

What a dance through absurdity as I go through the political spectrum on my wordpress tags!

Obama’s wonderful, his wife/friend is truly proud of him. Obama and McCain are twins! Hillary conceding means women have been oppressed again!

Then there are the ones who say any vote is a waste, since they (candidates) are all identical. Or, I’m voting for the opposite party cause my favorite lost. What about some reality checking!

Do you really think that the first woman or black is of no importance? One is OK but not the other? I’m switching parties based on race or sex or age? Those “conservatives” of yesterday knew how to trade off favors and vote for many to their disliking, over common contempt for the liberals. The party of elite interest ran over the country with their demolition tractor some 25+ years now.  We have had an unprecedented administration that served the Republican party, and not the Republic.  Though some are surely deluded into believing the two area actually the same.

Now that some people who thought the conservative party was always superior have seen how utterly contemptuous the “conservatives” they have let in have been, this season, some might even vote for the Democrat, as long as it is not Hillary. Since she has been “branded” by those manipulative types way back when presumably. Some taggings never leave.

WHEN IDEOLOGY MEETS REALITY

Some come to their senses over being used, while others may have never really had them? Certain liberals don’t like somebody, so they vote for their known opposite? It is apparent that Obama and Hillary are, as of now, very close on the issues claimed this election season.

Do you alleged switchers really intend to vote for the opposite of your candidates philosophical identity because you “feel” a loss is some kind of betrayal? It is as if we live in a nation (some segment anyway) who see democracy as a game, that they will then take their ball away if all the rules produce some end they do not like. What a bunch of babies.  We are faced with the corruption of the American commons by a self serving bunch of predatory opportunist seeking to fashion their own totalitarian state, and you are contemplating voting for their next stooge?  Children.  Get over your tantrum!

Now I know the forces at work in the culture seek overall stability, and some of that is currently to the detriment of many hardworking people. Some things will not change a whole lot, some will improve surprisingly so, yet it is always about steps that can be taken without falling and breaking the nations neck. Can we at least acknowledge the issues at hand, and where we can do some creative work for the betterment of all?  Unlike the bunch in their now driving the nations interest to ruin. No! Not if I don’t get everything I want! It’s all or nothing? I don’t like her voice so I’m voting for a guy?

While I would never think of voting for heart deprived conservatives living in fear of every insecurity card placed into the mailbox of their lives (at elections!), it has been astounding to see both old and young allegedly Democrats ready to profess to bolt from the electorate if they don’t get their way.

We may need a Cabinet post for the distribution of baby blankets.

NEWS BULLETIN: Breaking Bitter White People

It seems the bitter white people are still bitter about Obama’s pegging of their angst over being screwed by the very conservatism that seduces them as “good”. Bitterness remains, as it often does, when someone outside your group identifies certain pacifiers that hold your head in some ways under watter. When reactive emotions are used to distort the contextual meaning of a statement, that statement takes on the values of those using it for demolition purposes. Oddly, such statements can hold more reality than ever acknowledged by those reacting to the tagged version.

You (anyone) may see your attachment as a moral, virtuous and an honest necessity for your cosmological view.  We claim grand intentions for our self identity. While someone outside the group can see how your values are leveraged and wedged to get you to support a cause nearly opposite of those interest–the propagandist have you hooked on the pandered line of your own historical context. You, unable to see outside the box.  Instead of reacting like a child, adults can grow by examining the concerns others have of us.  An unexamined life has been called one not worth having.

The stresses of life, then, are projected onto scapegoats, just watch the “conservative” whipping-boy targets rolled out to seduce good folks to shoot themselves in their lives, coming to an election near you.  And if you vote, why not vote for someone who actually believes in the stability and change you honestly feel this nation should represent.

Here is a cartoon to lighten things up.  But Clinton supporters may not approve of it.

FAKE DEMOCRACY

How can true democracy exist?

It needs basic requirements, most of which we do not have any longer, or never did.

The public needs to be informed from all quarters. Well these days, we hardly hear anything on the poor, the disadvantaged, environmental impacts of economic decisions. Mostly subdued by corporate interest. A good part of the damage was Ronald Reagan’s, destruction of the fairness doctrine.

Votes need to be counted under transparent conditions. Now without even paper trails, impossible to prove non-manipulation. This damage to democracy has been perpetrated by conservative status quo interest.

We do not even have a right to vote! It is a “privilege”, thus deniable by whomsoever privilege rules. This opens the door to mostly conservative interest to deprive voters a ballot.

A true democracy should minimally require a majority to elect any representative or president. It is unlikely but conceivable now that we could elect a president with only 40% of the vote. What kind of union is that? who will own it?

Without any fairness to the actual ability to reach the public, money has become the power behind votes and ideas.

In the end, an electoral college elects the president. Time for us to graduate to a real democracy.

If we want to talk about freedom. Under the lack of democratic tradition evolving here, we may not have much time left.

We have now a fake democracy.

Enjoy?

ARE WE FACING THE END OF DEMOCRACY?

THE PROCLAIMED CONSERVATIVE HERO RONALD REAGAN, DID MORE THAN THROW THOSE SELF SUFFICIENT SYMBOL SOLAR COLLECTORS OFF THE WHITE HOUSE ROOF. HE ALSO TORE UP THE FAIRNESS DOCTRINE, LAYING THE WAY FOR THE RIGHT WING CORPORATE ECHO CHAMBER THAT HAS MADE TRUTH INTO ALLEGED BIAS.

Who knows if president Carters solar collectors would have gone on to spark self sufficiency from US dependence on foreign oil, while lessening environmental degradation. The so called conservatives have done the opposite, sending the nation on this road to both empire making confrontations, and democracy undermining deregulation.

We have under the conservative rule, no interest in the Whole of society, except to keep “lower achievers” dependent on the wealthy for survival. This is a dominator paradigm. Just as New Orleans was abandoned with fingers pointed everywhere but to the very top. The American public knew the top executive could save an American city, if there was the will!

Unfortunately, with this new breed of opportunist conservative, every disaster becomes an opportunity for a friend or future interest to owe its allegiance to their cause. America itself is now surrendering its commons and its legacy of being a caring freedom loving people with responsibilities to all, to predators who are as predators have always been- out to stay on top.

WHAT I DON’T KNOW CANT HURT ME!—NOT!

Make no mistake about it. (That overused claim politicians use.) Business people telling editorial staffs what to focus on and what to drop based on economic bottom lines has convoluted truth seeking to avoid both the needs of society, especially the poor, and the truth that may reflect badly upon themselves. Eliminating the fairness doctrine was the undermining, below the American public belts punch, making full truth seeking to be defined as liberal bias. (I could read a thousand post on-line today, whining about liberal bias, but I would like to keep my own mind.)

Even liberals talk about; “No wonder Bush won twice.” while describing some Democratic infighting or lack of cohesion. Truth seems to be on the side that he never won fairly once, or at the minimum, the second time was a default, since it issued from the first cheat, and resulting failure to detect the 9-11 attack. All of this manipulated and contorted by the spin machinery of a “free press” that has no responsibility or accountability to providing the whole truth. It has been said that those elections, if carried out in another country, we would not have legitimized it! The Forth Estate, our freedoms guarantee, has a noose around its neck, watching the guy with the foot on the chair.

Even as a kid, when I heard William F Buckley speak on his debate show, I would be flabbergasted at how his ad hominem emotionally concluded barbs were thought of as intellectually honest, by himself! But I had grown up hearing similar ad hominem swipes. Conservatives especially, seem interested in getting the arguments out of intellectual accuracy, or any true empathy toward the plight and concerns of others than themselves. It is a peculiar self centering that thrives on name calling and cult like group think consensus reality passing as truthfulness, to not be questioned. Liberalism is by nature open to question, but not all proclaimed liberals are.

It is a travesty to observe the Democratic contenders, Barack Obama, but especially Hillary Clinton, use extraordinarily spacious logic to promote their cause. Surrogates and associations are now taken by the public as being the actual thoughts of the candidates, unless they are instantaneously disowned. John McCain seems to be given a bit of a pass on his associations, relative to the Democrats. I wonder why?

WHY VOTES MATTER AND HOW MANY

What is my actual position I hear some of you ask? Democracy’s must have fair elections to survive. They should also require a majority of voters, not some fractional plurality. Yes. We then require a more involved and deliberately knowledgeable public. What else? Whomever wins this coming time better include people from across their aisle. The damage done requires impute from more than one ideological bent. We need to return to the best and not the weight of despotic like loyalties sinking the ship of state.

We are one nation and one people for heaven sake! We must rise to the biggest sense of those words.

I have ventured into my own belief zone as my blog title exclaims. Yet I would be quite surprised to hear conservatives admit to mistakes, fundamental errors of judgment (except they were not conservative enough!) or any basic untruth possible to their philosophical positions. When questioning is the first thing they deflect, this state becomes their own lot in life. Now that they are trying to force us all to agree with them, and undermine attempts at fact checking and honest evaluations of situations, to protect their abstract delusional sense of purity. Their counterpoints in the world will both resist and respond with similar tactics. If their reign of illusion continues its polluted march forward, all democracies will be threatened with extinction. And possibly much more than that.

CONCLUSION–INCLUSION

That any of the worlds conservative movements cannot include the vast diversity of human ideas engaged toward greater understandings of environmental inter and codependencies is an anathema to the Wholeness of Life and Being that exist beyond tiny human comprehensive abilities. The accountable and responsible light that this awareness cast on being human is a challenge to us all. May the brightness of Unconditional Love cause their eyes to open, and cry into forgiveness. That is the proof of free will.

HILLARY, BARACK OR NOT?

It is still a contest, is it not?

Well. I expect the campaign to be “tough” in that we get to lie and make up things here and not be held accountable. We also have the opportunity to vote and have our ballots thrown out. So what is this debate all about?

If Democrats are that foolish to not vote for their parties nominee because it is not the one they like, you will get what you vote for. In some respects karma is instant, whether one knows it or not.

What goes around is already past you. No need to wait for it to “comes around”.

If democracy was done under officially in 2000, and we just let it happen as we did, we get what we got; more lies, manipulation, unaccountability, incompetence, media afraid or on the “mightier” side of money making bottom lines, just like in a dictatorship, only self stupefied, since we were kept in the dark by our own imposed ignorance of information access and power advantages. Oops I got off on a rant.

IF IT IS NOT FAIR AT THE FINISH LINE, HOWEVER, IT IS NOT A DEMOCRACY

I say let them debate and maneuver all they want, if its a cheat, they are cheating on us. If we cannot take the heat of debate that is fair, don’t get into the frying pan. If we as a public cannot tell what is valuable and important in debate from what is not, the shame will be owned by us. If we vote for someone who is even less on our side just because we feel the other one in “our” party didn’t treat us right (even on just one topic!). Once again, we will get what we got coming.

Why not get a thorough view of how they handle conflict, discord and the trials and tribulations a conscious president would need to face daily in the Chief Executive Office? Oooh, they are bickering, I’m going somewhere else. Well, mighty big of me, oh mature voter. This is an opportunity to learn important distinctions in behavior and response that will be coming around in the actual world. Let’s have a little thanks for that, and not buy into various soap opera narratives and scenarios constructed to confuse the issues into one of negative division. It is a campaign. Hello!

It has been an amazing thing to watch poll number change on cheap shots and under the belt punches. These will be the same ambivalent group that would switch vote because they dislike how someone laughs. “My gosh!” as ‘Rummy’ would say.

It is not the candidates who need to rise to the occasion. It is us.

The days of reckoning are coming. We will see if the public is pushed to one side by the usual fear ticks, or the incident card still capable of being pulled by dictatorial-imperial interest. We will also see how easy or not it is for democracy and critical thinking to be erased from this, its once nearest stronghold.

Whatever the case. It will actually be, what we as a once conditionally free people, asked for instead.

To the interest in either party who would vote for the opposite in spite. Get a grip. Grow up. Even form a third party or more and have the others bargain for your votes.

In that case to work, we should become a real democracy and require a majority, not a plurality to win the presidency. Anyone for growing up?

WE ARE EASY MARKS: or quick receipe for mind control

“Bushes War” part two, is on PBS tonight. Get a hint of objectivity while you still can.

This poem and the following quote are dedicated to all those who participated in the amazing deceptions that brought us to the Iraq war. It is to the gullible and conformist convoluted “integrity” apparently in all of us, if we are to assume that the administration is in any way whatsoever, representing the higher interest of the American people and democracy. It is dedicated to the dictatorial assumptions of the “Unitary Executive” and all those who support its overthrow of our founding creed. The never-ending “war” as the overthrows justification.

.

I look forward to the upcoming film; “Body of War”

.(In honor of the way the corporate media treats us as ignorant simpletons in no need of fact based truthful context.)

CIRCULAR LOGIC LULLABY (ad hominem hymn)

Circular logic lullaby
kiss the girls and make them cry
stick just one needle in the eye
crossed your heart and hoped to die
no one has the right to ask why
circular logic lullaby

you couldn’t have if you don’t
you wouldn’t have if you wont
and if you wonder why, why, why
you might as well talk to the sky
join that blackbird with the pie…

Circular logic lullaby
kiss the boys and make them cry
stick just one needle in the eye
you crossed your heart and hoped to die
no one has the right to ask why

context and concept are led astray
night is convinced its more like day
and if you wonder why, why, why
you might as well talk to the sky

And for more on easily manipulated public perceptions and the power of cult think conformity;

“Nazi leader Hermann Goering, interviewed by Gustave Gilbert during
the Easter recess of the Nuremberg trials, 1946 April 18, quoted in
Gilbert’s book ‘Nuremberg Diary.’Goering: Why, of course, the people don’t want war. Why would some
poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best that
he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece.Naturally, the common people don’t want war; neither in Russia, nor in
England, nor in America, nor for that matter in Germany. That is
understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who
determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the
people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or
a parliament, or a communist dictatorship.

Gilbert: There is one difference. In a democracy the people have some
say in the matter through their elected representatives, and in the
United States only Congress can declare wars.

Goering: Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the
bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them
they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of
patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in

any country.”

I’M STILL DECIDING. Give me a while!

WHICH WAY THE WIND BLOWS

WATCH THE NARRATIVES SPROUTING THAT SEEM TO TAKE HOLD IN THE SOGGY MIDDLE OF THE FIELD OF THE POPULATION.

We have the population poised for mind-blank. Fill in the synaptic connections.

We will forget who got us into the mess we are in as a nation. Fear will turn this mushy swishy middle voter, into fallen over sure, wishing once upon a fear.

Unfair. May I repeat, unfair and out of context story-lines will be created. Good people will seem sinister, the swishy swashy middle fence sitters will tumble to the side spewing the most vile and veiled innuendo. Its weight pulling them as if by cause of reason.

It happens every time!

Works like a charm!

“Did you hear who so and so really is? Shocking!”

They suggested we were tired of the mud, the out of context and ground up truth made into voodoo dolls, but the needles stick into the straw every time!

Sure the confident “polar opposites” may be unswayed by the manure spreader, rightly or wrongly. It is that mind-crunched middle, musing over who knows what; a certain word or concept focus groups have found to be a sword, a hammer, a bullet, who knows. They will make up that confused and ambivalent mind of theirs, or sit out until someone tells them what to think, a friend or family member? Possibly a smiling and sincere door knocker, a promise made to someone over the phone? They do this stuff for a reason!

Then the once confused will feel the power. Their vote will become pointed, like a weather vane into the breeze of localized mind controlled zeitgeist.

With a heart of wind and metal, they will become; the decider. They may receive a little sticker after that, saying, “I VOTED“, as if that actually meant something to be proud of in their instance.

Then they will return to their field with outstretched arms and funny hat; hay sticking out from their cuffs, hoping against hope, to keep the thoughts from landing in the field and consuming all of their confusion. In this mission they will, until next harvest season, or a fall burn-off, be quite successful.

IMAGINE IT!

VOTING?

No matter your religious, racial, ethnic or philosophical beliefs and lifestyle, ancestors or your group, even Native Americans, have fought to save the nation.

Now that is something, given all the talk that so many of us do not deserve the gifts and responsibilities of our country for one viewpoint or another. And yes, many pacifist served during wartime as medics. They were the first to be called when you got hit and sometimes died on their way to you or your father, or grandfather.

Imagine that a headache, or that apathy, or ambivalence, or lack of desire or motivation for whatever reason, has some of us sit out our chances to have a say. To vote, even if it is to help move the nation one molecule towards where we feel it should be. Many lives were and are being lost, just to give each of us that chance, and we seem to be losing it.

We better make sure voting counts and leaves a trail to reality and not manipulation.

Imagine. There are traditional interest that hope for low voter turnout; some hope rural voters don’t turn out and others that city voters stay home. In recent elections, we have votes unverifiable, some interest interested in stopping those living here, in a democracy, from voting.

At the local level, some bond and other special issues that do not pass during “major” elections, are passed on off prime time elections, because they rely on the low turnout, presumably the bond issues supporters getting their say in. I sometimes am for these issues, but that does not make the low turnout right!

WE TRUSTED YOU WERE NOT COMING!

How can it even be that when you go to vote there are not enough machines or ballots? Imagine, that is not likely just an oversight. One party or interest is benefiting from the turn away by frustration, or questionable provisional ballots. Is this what we have let democracy devolve into? I have seen ballots of mine in the past, where there is not a straight line to the candidates box or oval. How can that be? You still might have to double check just to be kinda certain the mark is at your choice.

Does it cost too much in ink to have a line go to the right spot? Imagine, that is no accident, unless we are being ruled by complete idiots and fools. Oops! Wrong suggestion! One thing one can always count on when it comes to tripping elections; opportunist are clever and often manipulate below the radar.

BUT IT IS SUCH A BOTHER!

Imagine it! “I’m not going to stand in line to vote for any of these jerks!” Or. “I just got my hair done and am not going out in the rain! It would make it curl!” I hope we cannot imagine these things as reasons to let predators take over the leftovers of our Democracy, picking over the lives of all who gave their all for our privilege to be here and have a say.

Take your chance. Say it! Don’t imagine it. Or that is what we will be left with–an imaginary democracy.

THE END IS NEAR! THE THEORIES ARE FALLING! PICK YOUR FACTS!

I read a post concerning a very old theory of the lifespan of democracy. It describes stages of the eventual fall of democracies over a two hundred year span on average. It is linked down this page.

This was offered with no apparent answers, except a harangue over illegal immigration, and presumably, some kind of wake up call to arms. I expect some of that immigration is helping the profit bottom lines of many of those assumed to be the holier ones in the democratic cultures scenario as presented in the second list.

It goes on to list many sometimes irrelevant facts to create the impression that dependence on the government till, by unworthy types, spells doom for a culture. That may be true, but who you think is benefiting from the government; such as the military/industrial/congressional/corporate complex, is not on the apparent radar.

Instead, vast generalizations are offered that are open to argument over who meets which of the old theory’s stage progressions downward, and in what way. Get your eraser (NOT)!, cause it will not be mentioned. Nor is there a mention of corporate world hegemony growing ever more influential, to the extent that voting itself in many of the worlds democracies begins to seem futile to alter any direction a nations seems headed, except for inward nationalism or religious orthodoxy.

OF BOTTOM LINES AND TOWED ALONG BELIEFS

This now world wide competition, and at times collusion, of special wealth privilege and or religious interest, and their special influence over democracy; such as setting intellectual agendas and viability’s of ideas open for change, not a note. Not one iota of a hint that these forces, these now extra national forces, are themselves contouring democracy to suit their needs.

To read the spin of selected facts, some curious, and most open to interpretation by the philosophy you prefer, has a near panic atmosphere, generated by the stretched logic needed to construe a predictions fulfilment in print. (The sky may be falling, but there is a difference between rain and a cometary impact.) Odd things, like the number of states and land area won by Bush and Gore in 2000. As if land itself is voting.

Remember, in the whole presentation, it is never mentioned that Gore won the popular vote. That voters were selectively targeted to extinguish their chance of having a vote. Nor is it mentioned that the government under Bush is racking up a phenomenal government bill that we all must pay one way or the other. The war industry if profiting mightily, though at our expense. One way we will pay, may well be democracies collapse. Bias is best hidden right under ones own nose.

NO! THE OTHER WELFARE STATE SCAPEGOAT

How the poor are left in a poor state educationally and locationally, and most importantly, ignored in their psychological needs in regards to the country, is not there. The resulting existential plague of who is more worthy than who as human beings, is a good study in hidden bias as a revelation of cherry picked facts meant to fit a theory. (WE have been there as a nation. Still doing that.) Some of the assumed more glorious phases of our democracy did not allow women and Blacks to vote, even allowed for the old fashioned form of slavery. Abstractions can be a handy place to keep just what I like.

That the poor are, now as ever, a necessary scapegoat and recruiting pool for undesirable and underpaid work to benefit the few, is of course missing in action. These are my points of view pertaining to what was left out of the two specious, yet easily manipulative list.

That said; here is the post of loaded and slanted philosophical notions about who is a deserving citizen.

I better give you that post; Fwd: This is an eye opener

Eye opener indeed.

If that opened my eyes to its world view, might have well put the coins back over them. Otherwise, while I am alive, you can wake me up when honest to goodness human truth is being presented, and not cognitive dissonance embedded in reaction to insecurity proped up fear.

We are not apathetic as a nation, because we are fat and weak from the government tax and spend till. Apathy is more likely the byproduct of those who see their votes repeatedly add up to nothing, even when they win.

COUNT ME IN?

Now we do not now know if our votes are even counted anymore. Not with the absolute certainty at least approachable with a paper trail. I do not know how well a democracy can survive when one party just tried to gain permanence, let alone that money determines much of any candidates exposure in the long run. What of our candidates actual “right” to lie? “I implore you not to look behind the curtain! I am the great and powerful, decider?”

Power interest is as power interest does. Wake up and smell the reality of who controls information and why we are so uniformed of our countries (actually special interest) actions in the world. Until we are shocked out of complacency by the blow-back of that ignorance of the world, and fall into another reactive cycles quagmire.

I do not need theories and questionable list to vote. I need the honest truth!

DEMOCRACY; LIBERALISM, CONSERVATISM AND DEBATE

img_0461.jpg

AN OCOTILLO CACTUS ON A MONSOON SEASON DAY

ARE HUMAN ADVANCES, SUCH AS THE LONG MARCH TO INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM AND RESPONSIBILITY, (THAT CURRENTLY LETS US DISCUSS POLITICS, RELIGION, AND SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC THEORY AND REALITIES) HAVE THESE CHERISHED LIBERAL VALUES JUST COME FROM MAKING NICE?

I like the cactus, its often lovely flowers, as a red-orange flame on top. It exist in this harsh desert environment, partly because of its thorns. Thorns of a sort protects most water caring individual cactus, from being plundered to death and extinction. Most all cactus fruit are edible

The current allegedly endless war on terror, is said to be necessary by conservatives of a sorts, because our opponents wish to plunder us and do away with such liberalism’s we enjoy. To do this endless job, we need, the argument goes, to draw back our freedoms (to defend them) and retreat into a quasi authoritarian state. Limit our freedoms, put them into conservative ideological hands, to save them from the enemy that hates them.

Liberals and libertarians who suggest that this is throwing the baby out with the bath-water are called terrorist appeasers. The most popular analogy conservatives of the pre-emptive force type offer, is how certain historical figures did not oppose the Nazis as they rose to power. Point taken, but taken to where?

NAZIS AS TAG FRAME

The Nazis used this very reasoning; developing a superiority complex ideology, targeting Jews and many others as the devil (evil), then pre-emptively attacking all who oppose them. But here comes my real point about points on cactus or bayonets.

The values we cherish under the umbrella of freedom, were not handed to us through history by the good will of the Hitlers, Stalin’s, or Mao’s of this world. They had to be convinced we would not forever live under authoritarian tyranny. Most all of us have some ancestor or know of someone who is putting down their lives to stand against the will of one, by living as a thorn for the will of all.

Forces in the world that control social and economic interest, are attempting to place their own barbs, on challenge to their sometimes invisibly imposed authority. They wish, for whatever reason, to hoard life to themselves. They are reactionary in that respect, against the will of the whole, against the liberalism of Christ, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights. They count on us to be spineless; to be pointless, to meander in a make nice mentality, where our own fear of defending freedom and self responsibility, for the illusion of stability, surrenders it.

OF THORNS AND FLOWERS

Vibrant democracy, as vibrant discourse, can handle strong emotion. Freedom requires both expression of idea and need, and the will to keep it in the face or eroding “reasons”, that will leave a canyon between various aspects of the whole population.

Some may wish to live in a cult like atmosphere where no-one expresses their fears; where no-one shouts; I am hurt!; where no-one says you are taking from me and denying it by words and deed. The far rights vitriolic fear machine has many crouched in a corner, fearing a conflict if they stand up for truth and justice, or just a different point of view to theirs. They have done this even to the point of threatening to send their own private army to your door, oh dissenting one.

I can see the feeling to avoid conflict. Many of us would rather live in peace than conflict. I certainly would, but not by ignoring the truth that I know and must express freely. Many, as Hitler rose to power; thought their friends and neighbors would surely not turn against them. But many, by fears manipulation to survival, did.

I hardly believe freedom and responsibility are achieved and preserved without strong emotion. I see no evidence of this but in cults. Where the surrender of ones own will to the cults figure head, can hardly be called freedom or responsibility in any honest frame of reference. Democracy and freedom require vibrant debate, but they also then require extended respect, not threats to ones own freedom to express.

IDEOLOGICAL CIRCLE SIMILARITY

The far left and the far right end up at the same place–pre-emptive attack on the whole to preserve their ideological purity. Big idea differences but hardly any difference in behavior. Harm becomes a “good” to place on those other than yourself and tribe identity.

I am OK with those who sit out the pointed needs of our collective freedoms and responsibilities because they cannot take (or reject) the occasional pin point to their ego or identity. They are either ruled by fear, or absolute Good.  And who am I to decide.

But those of us who debate and show some underlying respect; that we allow differing ideals, ideas and opinion, that we, as they once said; “I disagree with you to the core, but will give my life to defend your freedom to express your beliefs.” If this be our stance, then we will maintain democracies blessing. But if out of fear we say; “Sure. Take it all a way. Just leave me safe.” Then democracy will be taken down in the desert of humankind’s opportunist ability to be, cruel and unjust.

I live for the day humankind puts understanding before fear, places compassion and empathy before insecurity interest. But until that day of love and peace flowers, as it one day must if we are to survive, its fruits will not be known unless the path to understanding remains protected.

BLIND TOURIST GUIDES OF DEMOCRACY

Who are the blind tourist of which I speak? They are the one issue voter tourist, the special interest voter tourist. They are blind and being lead by the same, to the cliff of democracy voting tourist. Their vote is that next step off of what we might call the free (relatively that is) individual.

Their political, and thus social and constitutional myopia, is so severe, just one issue determines who they vote for; the man, the woman, the tax cutter, the balanced budget promise, the one who chainsaws, the one who looks like he prays with our crowd, the business man-woman one, the one who poses for pictures with someone who looks like my kind of friend, the one who has a dog like mine, the one who smiles a lot, the serious looking one, the one my favorite interest group endorses, the one the paper says is the best. All these and more are the blind tourist guides of what is left of American freedom, liberty and collective responsibility. Those essential ingredients of a true democracy.

Issues that are presented to us by a compromised media are not the only issues facing our nation at all. Amazingly, as I write this, the first vote counts are coming in from Florida’s Republican contest. These come with one interest only caveats; McCain will benefit from the ex military living here, Huckabee by the evangelicals living there. What a way to make a vote choice? If we remain about how many interest our country can be divided into, well, there is the recipe for conquering. How in the world am I a responsible citizen if I only will vote for someone who, lets say; had the same job as I? Where is the ship of democracies lighthouse? It is in you.

I receive some replies to my post that mention; ‘Well I am voting for the one who, (fake issue) who washes its own dishes after eating. Anyone who does not do that is not worthy of my vote.’ Another proud American opinion with a cloth wrapped over the eyes, pin in hand to chad dangling tail on the donkey-elephant. Spun several times, then pointed forward into the abyss.

We have issues so fundamentally relevant to the value left in our supposed democracy, that being willingly guided by our pet issue is tantamount to surrender to whomever you like; the monarchy, the communist, the fascist (same as corporatist), the theocracist, tag the authoritarian/totalitarian one, cause that is what we will find at the bottom of the ledge, shatter boned and numb dumb struck.

SHOW ME THE MONEY!

It was once said that money is the root of all evil. There remains insight in that statement.

It can lead us to greed and envy, a sense of lack and neediness, a feeling of failure or euphoric entitlement. Kept just poor enough, and we have no time for discussing the sell out of the fourth estate. With empty pockets and bills to pay, I can have no time for musing over whether my vote is being counted at all. Working two jobs, when does one have time to read past the newspaper or the news show? Aren’t they covering the news?

And oh how I can resent being taxed, when someone seems to be getting something from the government that I had to work for! I resent it no matter how rich I get. Seem to resent it more and more the more I have. How easy a mark I am then, for anyone knowing how to take advantage of my money ideology all wrapped up around my eyes and life. How simple for them to point the way.

HUMANKIND BLIND IS AS HUMANKIND BLIND DOES

If we do not comprehend how money influences our views of the world and ourselves, we are indeed in the dark. We are then the prey buried in the sand, blindfolded head not knowing what the little bites are. The rope that lands near us is of the one throwing the noose around democracies neck. When pain is so close, it is even more tempting to grab the life line, later to find; I had been fooled again.

So vote your gut? Not at first sing of unqueasiness. Listen to the candidates code words; are they a conglomeration of special interest or a more inclusive vision? Do they seem capable of doing what they say with a passionate heart, and not the Kremlin kind? Does their plea to you go beyond asking you to open up even to those you would rather not think of? Do they do this, not when just holding your pocket book as bottom line, but holding your heart to heart, to care for other lives? Are they trying to keep you in perpetual fear? If so, you will so be kept blinded to the light and afraid.

If you have no time to do these kinds of reflections, search in your communities for someone(s) who might be willing to enlighten you. At least that is a start to return back up the legacy of what has been eroded under our watch.

Find the time to care about the value of your vote before it is just considered, as a president once said; “Stop throwing the Constitution in my face. It’s just a g-d- piece of paper!”

THE PRESIDENTIAL PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO TRUTH

WHY IS THIS QUESTION NOT ASKED OF CANDIDATES FOR HIGH OFFICE?

I know they raise their hands over the Bible or something, in front of a robed character, swearing to uphold the Constitution, when it is in effect too late and they are being sworn in. That appears to be not good enough according to our history.

We should be well aware that the presidents, perhaps as commander-in-chief(?), seem to give an order to themselves that anything goes when it comes to guiding the public to believe in things that are factually not true. The truth, it has been proven, they need not even pursue. Part of being a hard decision making god like leader I imagine?

Well this situation has proved fatal to so many, and itself seditious to our country, our reputation, and our present and future. Treason has even become a political tool of manipulation (with immunity with one parties control and a failed fourth estate), something no free country can endure and keep its decency, let alone universal rights or freedoms. Something must be done.

WE THE PEOPLE MUST HAVE OUR ANSWER

We need a Presidential Pledge of Allegiance to Truth, one made to the public during the campaign. The pledge needs the teeth of sworn acknowledgement and eventual enforcement; that when any harm ensues by the president knowingly, in the face of contrary evidence or doubt, declares something that produces documented harm to be true, when in fact that “truth” is not unquestionably certifiable; that she or he be held to account.

(National security issues under question will be handled by defense and or intelligence committees, sworn to secrecy, their evidence and access on the topic not to be interfered with. Those findings will be presented to the team of judges also so sworn to secrecy, with most severe consequences to be applied to any breaching of the nations private information.)

The Presidential Pledge of Allegiance to Truth Committee, made up of a balanced representation of the US, will demand that congress appoint an independent team of experts on the alleged untruth to determine the validity of the claim held against the chief executive, or they shall themselves so appoint it. If it is found that the president was willfully largess in stating something as true, indicating the truth was not held as the measure of policy, they will be impeached on such offense or resign their post, and a new election be immediately declared to occur in a month(?).  While the line of succession to the presidency steps up in the interim.

This is a simple Pledge of Honesty, not the kind we currently hear about taxes or whatever. We cannot be electing the head of the most powerful, and thus potentially destructive or constructive nation on earth, and allow that person to deceive us openly and at will. Congress does not uphold its authority, it has forfeit it. We are left to our own devices to see who will promise not to deceive us for any reason, and be held accountable for so doing. How can we not, and survive? Are we to represent to ourselves, our military service, and the world as the country that defends deception?

MAKE IT CLEAR, CLEAN AND STRAIGHT

In essence, it is a simple statement; will you not lie, obfuscate, cheery pick facts, irresponsibly plant or accept false stories and information, seek out only your own viewpoint, or in any other way deceive us, the nation whose constitution you swore to uphold? Yes or no, no caveats.

Will you swear to be immediately held accountable for such misinformation being used to manipulate our nation? And will you promise, not to be excused and never do it again, but to step out of the way of the truth, that we have an honest and forthright government. And not one, of characters and ideologies that seek to remake it into their own false image, by employing falsehoods as the fabric of our American creed, hidden behind the Cause of our nations flag. Democracy defeated.

This pledge sworn to the public will be construed as the candidates prime directive, to be implied as supreme law upon swearing in. It will thus be considered a retroactive mandate by the candidate to the Committee on Presidential Honesty, its court and team of judges. Our hearing the Pledge of Allegiance to Truth to the United States, by the candidate, will be construed as fact applying to their office.

This is a matter of saving out nation (and world) from totalitarian ruin. We have witnessed the lack of any authority to uphold the truth in and for high public office. The spirit of this pledge should also apply to any party in office manipulating the nation to benefit its own interest above the interest of a free and fully informed democracy.
