At this time, 1:00pm CDT Sept. 13 2008, Ike is still a hurricane at 80 mph. large areas from Galveston to Houston without power. Tornado watch in far eastern Texas and most of west-central Louisiana.

Currently in other weather news, Chicago is experiencing a major rain event, expected to move toward Detroit. 184 basements reported flooded in Chicago, likely many more.
Downtown Houston was showered with glass from windows blown out of skyscrapers. Flooding contiues to be a major issue at this time.
Ike now downgraded to a Tropical Storm.
