Update; 6pm EDT Sept 6 2008 intensifies
Hanna’s rains rushing up the East Coast.
Ike is intensifying. Computer models now sending it over Cuba, where it is expected to emerge into the Gulf of Mexico. Cuba may diminish it, but the warm Gulf and northern trajectory could keep many glued to Ike’s movements and intensity.

UPDATE: 8:30pm EDT
Hanna making a move inland overnight. Hanna’s tropical storm wind influence extends far from the center, over 200 miles. Hanna still showing signs of strengthening, currently winds at 70mph.
Tornado watch out for eastern sections of the Carolina’s. North of there, watch your weather sources for movement northwards of tornado watches.
Ike heading west towards Florida. If it trends south and hits Cuba, less likely to be as strong later when near the US. If it goes into Florida, that is another story. A lot often depends on the speed of systems and dominant steering currents. Also, if they have time to rejuvenate, and or, if wind shear hampers the storms efficiency in reconstitution before landfall. Much to keep track of this weekend.

Hurricane Hanna? With landfall expected within 36 hours, Hanna is at 70 mph and becoming more well organized. Actual hurricane status may be immaterial, but it appears it could accelerate those 5 more mph before the eye-wall hits shore.
Meanwhile. Hurricane Ike remains a major hurricane headed our way.
