WHAT A THOUGHT! infants with guns

THE SECOND AMENDMENTS CONSTRAINTS CAUSED BY INTRINSIC INCLINATIONS OF LIBERALISM AND CONSERVATISM

How can I say such a thing?

Aspects of the right wing, whose attention disorders are so easily prodded by abstractions, has to be activated to get the critically thinking impaired to get out the angry vote. Those left wing liberals with their Main Steam Media are always out to take all ones rights away. That seems to be the stance I most often hear by the afraid.

I do own a gun! I am on the side of the Second Amendment, unfortunately I am not a fool as well. As far as our rights go, only the third is currently anything like absolute. No one seems to be going to station their troops in my home at the moment. All the others are conditional, like it or not.

I believe responsible people, as long as there is a threat from irresponsible ones to kill you with weapons, or kill your family, responsible individuals should have their own immediate protection. But lets get real, in some instances, society cannot allow me to take my gun somewhere unless I get specific permission granted to do so. Why? I do not want my community to go completely wild west, including me losing my rationality at some dysfunctional overreacting whim.

BUT I DIGRESS

You know what? Your self defense association or group of government fear bags going to keep Uncle Sam from doing what Uncle Sam feels like doing? I don’t think so. Why? I hate to dismay you but they are now paid to stop you and your vigilantes (or terrorist) in your tracks. The gun will be pried from your quite warm fingers.

They can get at you from the air in an instant! You bearing those arms? Without ever seeing them, they will disarm you shortly by drone, or gas, how about your water lines? Sure you are ready for that? You prepared for types of sound or other radiation you cannot see?

Of course there is an elephant in this living room. Does your right to bear arms to keep the big bad government from getting you, include then, tactical nuclear weapons? How about laser or other electromagnetic devises that will render you and your militia’s mute? “I want my tank!”

Yet all the scaredy pants out there will be up in a tither over those damn liberals taken’ away their Second Amendment rights. Get real. Conservatives are bringing about our disarmament as much as anyone.

I live for the day we all can be self governing because each of us is responsible enough to keep our cool and solve problems peacefully through compromise and understanding. Until then, I am glad you have your gun and glad the government is doing something about the irresponsible use of them. That implies some level of compromise, unfortunately.

Time for the infants to wake up.

HERE’S LOOKEN’ AT YOU

Never forget! You own wherever that barrel points, and where anything that comes out of it lands. Do not ever point a weapon loaded or unloaded gun at anyone. Unless you are ready for terrible consequences. Do not accept anyone’s excuse for “play” or “having fun” if they do it! Let them know where you stand, on staying alive. “Why? Don’t you trust me?”, is nothing but manipulation disguised as loyalty.

“I thought it was unloaded!”

A neighbor a few houses away, as I was growing up, was quite a gun enthusiast. I remember all the rifles and other weapons behind glass doors. One day at the kitchen table while cleaning a gun, his son across the table was shot through the heart! One “oops” you will never get over.

YESTERDAYS PROJECT

cuts and cracks

HERE IS THE ISSUE

A wet area near the base of the wall indicated a leak inside the masonry wall or cement floor. This is how whomever did things; they put walls and footings directly in or on top of the plumbing. That has lead to the homes main water line to leak and require fixing last year. This other one is complicated, since as I break up the concrete I could fracture the pipe and have a worse issue.

So in these photos you can see the poor construction work; air holding up a makeshift concrete sink that is cracking and falling in. I am going to support that with a wall. That sink will likely become a planter under a whole redesigned area with a raised planting bed, wide concrete counter and an overhead arbor or trellis to hold a nice wisteria vine.

But for today, after yesterdays cutting in with a tile saw and fracturing of the cut areas with gentile hits of a sledge hammer, hopefully today I will pry out the pieces around the pipe and cap it off. I have put another water line this side of that hole with the water in it in the photo. There is already a water spigot 8 feet from this area.

Notice the non existing footing. That is not all; walls are not tied to slab by re-bar or any metal! I will go under in spots to put real footings where I do wall add ons for planter that will help keep walls up by being bolted to them with re-bar from wall to planter wall, grouted with cement.

Scary thing is, this seems to be an area the ex inhabitants were going to annex to the actual home square footage, since it seems to have had window spaces formed. A roof and a cut through to the home would have completed the new room.

Often with older homes (this one only 30 yrs.) one has to deal with homeowner ideas gone bad. But it is wise to watch your “contractors build confidence” group like a hawk as well.

Welcome
