These are a polls numbers of Democrats who
feel who is best able to defeat John McCain
as of March 31, 2008.
For whatever that means.
Nationally, in that same order, this week for the election it is 51% to 43%, or 8 point spread.
For whatever that means?
It means Barack is gaining ground.

My whatever that means, meant more that polls are not perfect. Plus the eight point spread (in the general public) of a Barack lead was actually a slight decrease over the prior week. His lead however, has stayed solid for many weeks now for the general public.
